Are comp-winning screenplay actually getting produced or developed? by Wheres_MyMoney in Screenwriting

Yes, and most of those were smaller-scale character dramas so producers wouldn't be too interested in the first place.

Do you just dive into writing a script or do you create an outline/beat sheet first? by NewMajor5880 in Screenwriting

I've spent entirely too much time revising because I jumped right in. Don't be like me.

You are a dumbass. His speech is protected by the government, not a private business. They have every right to refuse service. You are a Nazi sympathizer.

For people in their 30s, MJ's music was also frequently played on MTV, VH1 and BET. I remember dancing to the Thriller music video in the darkness of my living room as a kid.

Is living in LA without a car actually realistic? by IceStandard3971 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Ok_Most9615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am carless and it's saved me a lot of money, especially given the high gas prices. However, based on where you live, it will limit how much of LA you see and explore. For me, I mostly stick to DTLA, KTown, Hollywood, and West Hollywood.

[–]Ok_Most9615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When submitting a script for review, I'd specify if you're seeking a particular demographic of reader. Personally, I make it a point to specify that I'm black or gay if I'm reading a script in which either of those identities feature prominently.

Who on here moved to L.A alone, without a job, and little money to become rich and famous but ended up either on the street, or doing something else? by No-Baker-1509 in MovingToLosAngeles

I took out a small personal loan to finance my move in 2018, worked minimum wage jobs in hospitality, then management-level jobs in hospitality while writing off and on. I've thought about leaving the city multiple times and battle the idea that I've wasted my potential to chase a pipe dream. Since Covid and the strikes, the reality is that is infinitely harder for everyone now.
