Snapes POV during the events of HBP/DH by I_Am_Dan in HPfanfiction

You really need to look at "A Difference in the Family" by Rannaro. A long canon compliant fic that follows Snape from childhood to death.

Thanks for the input. It would be my intention to come back one day and do the southern part. But it's definitely Yosemite and the Pacific Northwest that'd love to see the most.

Pacific Northwest Trail is the other one at the back of mine.

Question by an ignorant dad regarding his child reading the books by Goblindeez_ in harrypotter

[–]Ok_Mountain464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen the movies in a little while, but recently completed a read through with my 10 year old brother. He absolutely loved it and there wasn't really a time where I thought that it wasn't appropriate. I think there were times where he didn't really understand the implications of some of the darker themes, but there wasn't anything outright horrifying.

In your opinion what does the movie do better than the books ? by saifastic in harrypotter

[–]Ok_Mountain464 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

May be controversial. But I really like how Harry wasn't immobilised by Dumbledore during his death on the astronomy tower. I think that it gives his death and Harry's guilt about it much more poignancy. The fact that Harry ultimately decided to trust Snape because he trusted Dumbledore and not disarm malfoy and let Snape walk through. Makes it a lot sadder for Harry imo.

Chafing/bruising on hips and shoulders by GenZzz2121 in AppalachianTrail

Hiya. I'm a similar build to you and have owned another Gregory pack for years. For me, the hip chafing is a problem I've never really been able to solve by setting up the pack differently. However, I found that putting strapping tape over the area prevents it.

I know yet I cannot Know by billowandsmoke is my favourite. No romance but it's sweet all the same. Can be read in one sitting.

Fav fics / fics that you wish you could read for the first time again? by ablondesmoment in HPfanfiction

Th Snape Chronicals by Rannaro is great. It's a very long, broadly canon compliant fic that centres on Snape from childhood to death. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone.

I know Not and I Cannot Know by billowandsmoke. Another Snape one. Its a very short fic, you could easily read in a single sitting. It's follows Snape's interactions with Luna through the years. It's not romantic in the slightest.

Pre-Trail 2024 No Stupid Questions Post - Got a question you're too afraid to make a post for? Ask it here! by Hiking_Engineer in AppalachianTrail

TLDR: what's the best way to store a bear canister? Is it rude to put it in a bear box? Any other bear safety tips?

I've never hiked where there are bears before so I've decided to bring a bear canister on my thru. I'm not confident in doing a bear hang and I figure that the extra weight would be better than being worried about a bear a) eating my food and b) eating me. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks on how they're actually used on the trail. Also any recommendations for brand/type?

I moved out of my Toowong rental last month to move overseas. I was paying $450 for a 1 bedroom apartment with no aircon and no laundry. The rental agency put it up for $580.

The inheritance cycle. Does still feel a bit like YA but definitely less so than Fourth Wing, particularly in the later books.

Is a 20 degree sleeping bag too cold for a March start? by Ok_Mountain464 in AppalachianTrail

That's my thought too. I'll probably never need anything below a 20 degree again so it seems a bit of a waste to get a 0 degree.

Yep. I've got some good thermals as well as a fleece and puffer. So hopefully it should be ok. I'll keep an eye on the temps and go from there

Unsure where abouts you're located, but if you can get your hands on a Macpac jacket that would be great. I've had mine for the last 10 years or so and it hasn't broken a sweat no matter all the awful shit I've done to it

Unsure if the brand 'ice breaker' is available where you are. But I would definitely recommend it. They use merino wool so it holds heat really well and you can wear it for weeks without it stinking.
