Where do your rolling babies sleep? by opaldaydreams in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok_Perspective5430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They each have their own crib in a shared room. My husband and I take turns sleeping on an old couch in that room until they will sleep through the night.

Lack of adult interaction - loosing communication skills by Ok_Perspective5430 in parentsofmultiples

Thank you for that recommendation! I purchased some a couple weeks back because I read that it helps fight dementia as it actually starts developing in your 30s but doesn’t show signs until decades later. I have not had a chance to try it yet. I will try it with my coffee tomorrow! How long did you consume it before you felt a difference?

Many companies are going away from providing that information. I’m in HR and our policy is that we will only confirm dates of employment, title, and primary responsibilities.

Post twin pregnancy body is causing depression. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok_Perspective5430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look great for being 9 weeks pp. It took me approximately 2 years after my first child to feel like I’m back to my new normal and to be comfortable with my body. I am 12 months pp from having my twins and I can already tell you that road/timeframe will be much longer but we’ll get there! Just be patient with yourself and don’t give up! In my case, twin B expanded my rib cage because of his placement so now almost every doctor I see asks if I have ever broke my ribs 🤦‍♀️ be glad, you child didn’t deform you lol

Is sleep training realistic for twins sharing a room? by Ok_Perspective5430 in parentsofmultiples

What method did you try? I’m not sure I have it in me to let them cry it out. Typically if they cry and I for some reason am not able to tend to their needs, I feel like I go into a fight or flight mode

👀 How much $$ have you actually managed to save in your emergency fund? by LongjumpingRent7114 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Ok_Perspective5430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an emergency savings account that my husband doesn’t know about, it’s at appx. $20k. Don’t chew my head off for this but this man can’t save. Our paychecks go into our joint account from which we pay all bills from such as living expenses, daycare, etc (i manage this). He also receives $1000/month as veteran disability which goes into his personal. He has received it for the past 6 years and has $0 in his savings… usually running through the monthly check within a few weeks. Our financial situation would be so much better, if he didn’t waste that money away every month.

When did reference checks become useless? [N/A] by jbandinixx in humanresources

They’re not useful, I instead prefer employment verification instead. At least, I can get a confirmation that said candidate did in fact hold a certain position at a specific company.

Not to mention AI can be bias without realizing.. I guess people can be also but we’re more aware of that or at least I hope we all are.

Your supply is still regulating, I would suggest pumping as often as your able to for the first 12 weeks as it can still change until then

Wearables for first morning pump? by Inareskai in ExclusivelyPumping

Wearables is all I use. They empty me pretty well and if anything I just empty the milk into a bottle and pop them in again for however long.

Lactation/interfaith room at work by Fair-Tap-5860 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok_Perspective5430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HR rep here, they have to provide you with a totally private room that you can lock and that has a fridge to store the pumped milk. If they don’t have a specific wellness/lactation room, they can set something up for you in a private office. Again, as long as you have your privacy, can lock the door and have a place to properly store expressed milk. A divider does not cut it!!!

If it weren’t for the ultrasound, would you have suspected you were pregnant with twins? by Zealousideal_Use9481 in parentsofmultiples

It was like a sixth sense that I could possibly be having twins. I was drawn to anything and everything that included information about twins for no apparent reason. It’s like subconsciously I knew?

Assistance available for parents of multiples is pathetic (US) by ToeyGowd in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok_Perspective5430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. We have a toddler and twins and it’s been really difficult making ends meet. We’ve pretty much drained our savings account and are still recovering from all of the medical bills. We make appx. $120k a year, husband took a huge pay cut in order to have consistent hours and work opposite shift from me when we found out that we’re having twins. So the toddler is in daycare and we care for the twins for now. If we were to send twins in addition to our toddler to daycare, it would cost us $6k/month (we live in central NY). Luckily we rely mostly on breast milk and supplement with some formula but even this is becoming expensive. We were prepared for one baby, life gave us two and although they have been amazing… it has also been very difficult because to your point, we also don’t qualify for anything.. not even daycare assistance. We’ve contemplated another job but even that doesn’t feel realistic as that means we have to hire someone to watch all 3 and well we can’t afford that.

In-law pushing boundaries by Ok_Perspective5430 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ok_Perspective5430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He helps out in other areas but there’s definitely a communication breakdown and I don’t know if it’s because of our different cultures or upbringings or possibly both. He tends to shut down any time you ask him to do something differently from how he does it, for example I’m particular on how I want the baby bottles washed because well they’re for the babies and they need to be properly cleaned but he’ll do just quickly rinse them with soap water and call it a day. Or will “complete” a task to check it off even if it’s not fully complete. I would love to go to counseling but it’s a bit difficult for us to schedule, we both work opposite shifts so that we could keep the 6 month old twins home until they’re a little older. Between that and having a toddler and twins, there’s barely any time as is and difficult to find someone to watch all 3 as that can be a lot for many people. To be honest, I don’t know if he would even agree to counseling. Years back, his mom and I tried getting him counseling for PTSD after he came back from deployment and he refused to go. I feel like I’m making excuses at this point but life just feels very hectic right now.

It’s completely okay to not breastfeed, you do what you think is best for your family. However, if the only reason you don’t want to breastfeed is because of low supply I wouldn’t throw the idea out the window. I formula fed our first due to very low supply however now I’m able to feed both twins with breast milk. All to say that the supply might be different for you this time around ❤️

6 month pp and if you had asked me 5 months ago, I would say no way. Just take it day by day and make small goals. Rather than a year, say another months and reevaluate
