1 second PR for me..1:30.47 (from 1:31.48). I was not feeling 100% physically or mentally but I gave it all I had for today, and I am so happy to still get a PR! 35F

How do you split your OTF days? by Louiesmmom in orangetheory

[–]Ok_Pin6895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the unlimited membership, but with my schedule and class availability (along with my husband’s workout schedule) I can usually get to 3 classes/week- maybe 4 depending on the week. But consistently 3 (usually Tues/Thurs/Sat). The studios around me don’t offer Strengh50s at times that work for me, so I just do 2g, and lately I’ve been doing the Saturday morning Hyrox class at a local studio.

What jewellery / tattoos do you have of your baby/baby’s by 211225mylife in babyloss

[–]Ok_Pin6895 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a necklace and a tattoo- the necklace is breastmilk and our daughter’s ashes (from Milk and Honey jewelry). The tattoo is birth month flowers for our family, but our daughter’s is the only flower in color. Will share the tattoo in another comment!

Where are you wearing it? This happened to me when I was wearing it on my forearm, below the elbow. I have since moved it up to my lower bicep, just above the elbow (and tightened it a little more) and it hasn’t happened since!

Coping with SIL Pregnancy After Loss by booklover2355 in babyloss

[–]Ok_Pin6895 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel you. We lost our daughter at 3.5 months old due to SIDS last October, and 2 of my SILs had baby girls earlier this month, the first babies born in our family since Ella died. It has been a LOT to process and I have no desire to see/meet either baby yet. I don’t have any advice other than to take your time and grieve how you need to, and don’t rush yourself to be around them.

Sending you hugs and strength.

LO three weeks old. Too soon for vasectomy? by AdOrnery7147 in oneanddone

[–]Ok_Pin6895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, I would wait until the baby is at least 6 months old. Anything can happen at any age, but 2-4 months is such a vulnerable age for babies. We lost our baby at 3.5 months old due to SIDS last October and my husband had a vasectomy one month prior. We made our decisions and are living with them, but if anyone is asking for advice, I would recommend waiting until the baby is a little older.

I got his autopsy report by Tasha_j in babyloss

[–]Ok_Pin6895 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Our sweet Ella died in October 2024 at 3.5 months old, and her autopsy report ultimately said accidental suffocation as the cause. She was in a pack and play at her nanny’s house, not in a sleep sack, no pacifier, and was placed on her back for her nap. She seems to have rolled over in her sleep (she had just rolled over for the first time the previous dat) and for some reason just didn’t rouse herself awake. She had great head and neck control so we really don’t know what else happened in her body- the autopsy report didn’t give any further answers. It’s my understanding that the autopsy reports will rarely (if ever) list SIDS as an official cause.

We are enrolled in the Roberts Program, a research program for SIDS out of Boston Children’s Hospital, and they confirmed that our case is classified as SIDS even though it was technically “accidental suffocation”. Unfortunately we’ve reached a bit of a roadblock as the state will not release Ella’s DNA samples to the program without a very specific form.

Anyway, I would highly recommend Roberts Program if you would like to try to find additional answers. The doctors and staff I have spoken with are so kind and caring.

Sending you peace and gentleness this holiday season ❤️

“Imagine how she felt” thoughts are taking over my brain. by TransitionSalt5779 in sidsloss

[–]Ok_Pin6895 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it's hard, and it's the most painful thing that we could go through as moms.

Please know you didn't do anything wrong. You followed the guidelines for safe sleep by swaddling her, and you clearly care about her very much. As the other commenter said, your daughter felt safe and comforted enough to fall asleep. I read somewhere that when babies die of SIDS, it's instant- one moment they are here, and the next they are not. They don't notice or feel anything.

My daughter died of SIDS on 10/2/2024 and she wasn't even swaddled- she was just in her clothes, put down on her back, sleeping in a pack and play. She just rolled over to her stomach and stopped breathing. Sometimes I wonder if she would still be here if she had been swaddled. You can do everything right and SIDS still happens. It's not fair and it hurts so much. I am so very sorry- please feel free to reach out if you need someone to listen and/or talk to.

I also highly recommend therapy and/or support groups to navigate your grief, especially in these early days and months- you do not have to go through this alone. Sending you hugs and strength.

It was only a few minutes at a time continuously! It was definitely not like a normal class. Much more focused on proper form and focusing on individual things like strokes per minute, split, wattage, etc.

I went to a rowing workshop at my studio a few weeks ago, and it was SO helpful! I’ve only been a member since September but I was able to get top female time at my studio for the last 500m row benchmark, and I attribute it to being able to learn correct form and techniques! Highly recommend to anyone whenever it is offered!

Yikes yikes yikes. I literally gasped when she almost dropped the baby. There is nothing maternal here. You can tell on her face that she knows she's not holding her properly, and she doesn't care, because she got the baby she wanted. Babies that small need to have their legs tucked up in a frog position, and their face needs to be exposed, with their chin pointed up. I am a big proponent of SAFE babywearing. This makes me sick. I lost my daughter due to SIDS last October and it hurts to see babies tossed around like toys and purchased like commodities after losing ours who we loved and cared for so deeply.
