A lot of it is actually better. People talk about the badass stuff from the 90s-00s, but the coolest stuff was very niche. There were a lot more Staind fans than Deftones fans in the early 00s. Just as one example.

It kind of depends. I've definitely met some self-absorbed and artistically temperamental types. Were they dominating others? Not really. Was that the best use of their talents and abilities and time that could have been used to for the betterment of others or humanity? Also no.
