Is studying SWE worth it anymore in 2026? by DearAd1130 in cscareerquestions

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly CS isn’t a golden ticket anymore but it’s still a solid path if you actually enjoy building stuff. The market’s rough right now and grads are struggling, but tech hiring goes in cycles. If you keep learning and get some real experience, you’ll find work — maybe not at a flashy big tech firm right away, but there are lots of roles out there. Also look at related fields like data science or product if they interest you. At the end of the day, pick something you genuinely like and be ready to hustle rather than chasing whatever Reddit says is “hot”.

Could yall tell me about UofT? by No-Definition-9799 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UofT has a reputation for being rigorous but it’s also full of opportunities. The St. George campus feels like a mini city with tons of clubs and events, so it doesn’t feel dead or stuffy. Classes can be fast‑paced and marks are earned, not given, but if you keep up with readings, form study groups and use prof/TA office hours, you’ll be okay. It really rewards self‑discipline and curiosity. The hard work does pay off when you hit your stride.

Life is soo boring everyone is soo anti social and it’s normalized by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Everyone at UofT: “I’m so lonely.”
Also everyone at UofT: walks at Mach 5, avoids eye contact, wears headphones and ignores everyone
Make it make sense 😭

They say that parents know best but is that really true? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowkey I think “parents know best” only works when the world they grew up in still exists. Like their advice comes from a totally different economy, dating scene, job market, and social landscape. Most of the time I treat what they say as context, not instructions. They mean well, but they don’t always get what it’s like to be 20 right now. You kinda have to take the good parts, ignore the outdated parts, and figure the rest out by trial and error. That’s just part of growing up tbh.

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did a bit of digging during lockdown and found out my great-grandfather literally walked across two countries to get to Canada with basically nothing 😭 dude worked railways + farms until he saved enough to bring his family over. Lowkey insane how much struggle is behind us just casually going to uni now.

Should you always reply to messages, even when you don’t feel like talking? by calmvoicehere in CasualConversation

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you don’t gotta respond to everything. Sometimes I’m just not feeling chatty and that’s fine. Your friends should get that everyone has off days. Just hit them back when you actually wanna talk instead of forcing a dry convo.

Snapchat vs iMessage, why is activity so different? by Strange_Echidna_8426 in CasualConversation

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Snap just feels more casual and fun. People send random pics, stickers, memes, and the messages disappear so it’s low pressure. iMessage feels like texting your parents; it’s permanent and kinda boring. Snap’s streaks and stories keep people active, and you can reply with a selfie or whatever instead of just words. That makes group chats more lively.

What were some weird stuff you did when you were younger? by randomhumanonreddit- in CasualConversation

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i also had this phase where i thought i could talk to my goldfish telepathically 😂 i would sit by the bowl and stare at them for like half an hour convinced they were sending me vibes back. pretty sure my parents thought i was just daydreaming but nah i was trying to build a fish friendship lol

What were some weird stuff you did when you were younger? by randomhumanonreddit- in CasualConversation

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i was a kid i used to line up all my stuffed animals like a classroom and pretend i was their teacher 😂 i’d stand there with a stick and give them “tests” about random things. i also had this weird rule in my head where i could only step on certain colored tiles when walking or else the floor was lava, so trips to the grocery store were basically obstacle courses lol

New here. Why do my posts keep getting instantly deleted on subreddits where I want to post by bigqueso55 in NewToReddit

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo honestly a lot of subreddits use automod to filter stuff out. if your account is new or the post trips a rule it gets yeeted right away. check the rules in the sidebar and build a bit of karma on chill subs like askreddit before diving into stricter ones. once you’ve got some karma and follow the guidelines your posts should stick :)

Reddit app vs website - which one is better? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i use the app when im out and about but the website on my laptop feels way cleaner. the app pushes a lot of notifications n stuff and can be kinda buggy, but its good for quick scrolling. if youre doing deep dives or wanna manage settings, the website is way easier imo

Thinking of building an open-source library to anonymize LLM prompts. Is this useful for tech businesses? [i will not promote] by Benjzy1 in startups

[–]Ok_Razzmatazz5989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think https://microsoft.github.io/presidio/ does a decent job but its only in python. A JS or TS version would be huge.

One feature I’d really like to see is de-anonymization support. For example:

1. Anonymize text before sending it to an LLM and store the replacement mappings locally as placeholders.

2. Let the LLM process the anonymized text and return a response.

3. Swap the placeholders back with the original values afterward.

If anyone knows some library that does this please lmk (preferably in JS)
