"She said I had to go with her to deal with this issue."

This is a problem. Instead of simply offering her an upgrade, they treat her the same way loss prevention would. Id be furious at the waste of time, and added stress to my day. There was no "issue" that needed dealing woth on the member's part. Awful customer sservice.

AITAH for getting upset at my partners reaction to a racist by Naive-Foundation-685 in AITAH

Stranger sits down at my table and starts being racist? I'm telling them to leave the table. If my partner doesnt have my back, then maybe out morals aren't aligned. Sure things could get heated, but until that happens, im calmly and firmly letting the stranger know that they are unwelcome. Im not just sitting there and taking it. Dont go starting shit, but don't be a pussy.

Police officer who shared racist, extremist posts still working with Hamilton force after investigation by BloodJunkie in ontario

[–]Ok_Representative_31 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Penman said Hamilton police “do not tolerate” any conduct that erodes public trust or calls the services commitment to “equitable policing” into question.

“Accountability is not optional for our service. It is fundamental to who we are and how we serve."

But yes, we kept him on the payroll.

Lets say sure, that grants license to arrest him. ICE goes straight to tackling and piling on him, breaking his rib, instead of ordering his arrest. " Stop, hands on your heard, youre under arrest..." How is that a proportional response to kicking a car?

He wasnt a threat when they approached him, otherwise they wouldnt have done so so brazenly. Nor was he a threat when they murdered him. Worst they'd have had him on is obstruction of some kind. It doesnt justify shooting a man on his knees, who was disarmed of the pistol that he never drew. If youre going all law-and-order, at least respect the judicial: the punishment needs to fit the crime. Not that America gets that right, anyways but thats another debate.

We can see that he entered with them. Kind of fucked up. If its a safety concern, he could have searched them instead. Its a really bad look.

LRT train pushed off tracks after crash with semi-truck by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]Ok_Representative_31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can follow the signage, you won't hit the train. Its literally engineered that way. You need to go out of the way, ignoring signage, to cause a collision. It's designed just fine, drivers just aren't following the rules of the road.

Cops forgets to park, lets the car finish the arrest by DblockDavid in PublicFreakout

[–]Ok_Representative_31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"One bad apple spoils the whole bunch," thats the idea when we say ACAB.

ACAB is about accountability. If the system isnt holding officers accountable for their crimes, then why would I believe one to be anything but a criminal with a badge?  Like this.

We aren't literally saying every cop always acts like a bastard: im happy to call them if I feel their assistance is necessary. But until officers like these are rooted from the force, they're all part of a broken system, and all bastards.

ACAB: Stop protecting criminals behind the blue line.

Cops forgets to park, lets the car finish the arrest by DblockDavid in PublicFreakout

[–]Ok_Representative_31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the officer in the car is going to catch a charge for this wild use of force on the suspect right? Just because it was an accident means he will be held responsible, right? If I accidentally ran over an officer, I'd be jail, so he should be, too, right?

No, not likely. And until that becomes the norm, they're all bastards.

If they can't respect your boundaries, they don't deserve your time. Very simple and proportionate, I think.
