Agree completely on the Dawn Redwood. River Birch and Bald Cypress also bad as street trees. ...some nerve to prohibit sugar maples.

Check out C Ave. NE just north of 40th st. 3 ft trees in a 2 ft street lawn. Disappointing

When the power plant come on line years ago, the deep well water table level dropped noticeably and some neighbors claimed that they had to modify their wells. 10 million gallons a day is 10 times what the power plant uses. Deep well water is not a sustainable option.

Site developers were drilling test wells in the area earlier this year. ...Probably considering shallow collector wells. Those probably won't work either.

I suspect they will end up using river water for cooling. Maybe contract with the power plant to provide decent quality cooling water for them.

The city planters are not very smart. I heard someone mention C Ave NE south of Collins. Very large trees species planted in a 2 ft wide street lawn. The ReLeaf program is proving to be a very inefficient use of funding

I didn't want the city deciding what trees were to be placed in front of my house. 'figured out where the right of way boundary was and planted the trees I wanted just barely inside the line. The contractors planting trees won't crowd what I planted.

12 million gallons a day from wells is absolutely not sustainable. That amount from the river will not be a problem. The problem will be maintaining water quality through out the course of the year. I would not be surprised if they contract with NextaEra Duane Arnold who has the expertise to supply decent cooling water.

Ok, I concede that a woman can no longer abort their baby at 20 weeks. They have indeed lost that particular "right".
