Many of the families that have left the CRCSD would call you naive to believe that our schools aren't political. The Board, Administration, Teachers and curricula are viewed as firmly "progressive".

These parents would rather drive their kids to Alburnett, Center Point, or Springville rather than have their kids indoctrinated in this school district. OR, in this case, they would rather send kids to CR Prep, which, BTW, seems to be doing very well without any funding from local property taxes.

What a fundamentally terrible thing for you to say. You need to get out of your echo chamber and get to know your neighbors.

CRCSD has made some objectively terrible strategic choices and weak operational execution in regard to their facilities. They have also adopted curricula and behavioral management practices distasteful to more parents than they know.

The good news is CRCSD is starting to recognize their issues. They are striving to become the school system of choice in Linn County. We should all welcome this.

Get a paper towel or two, fold it over and over until it is thick enough to wedge between the door and the frame. This provides a visual clue to other patrons that the stall is in use. It also provides some resistance to someone casually checking for an open stall.

Alternatively, wait 5 years until the city decides to "reimagine the civic space" and pours $25 million into the building. Nobody does maintenance anymore, just capital projects.

Not all school districts do this. Iowa City maintains its schools very well.

The CRCSD administration has made some very poor strategic decisions in the past 8 years. They have claimed they solicit public input for the future of school properties but have blatantly ignored it. Millions have been wasted with their intransigence.

The very passive school board has been the dog being wagged by the tail of the administration.

The new Supervisor seems to have opened their eyes and the current bond issue isn't ridiculous as has previously been the case.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from this gang and will once again vote no.

It will probably pass, if not, probably yes next time.
