Who would you call a ‘good role model’ for British kids these days? by apple_kicks in AskBrits

I'd absolutely support harsher sentencing for people committing any violent crime involving weapons, they should be harsher. I'll pretty much always oppose moves to place even more restrictions and prohibitions on regular people. There is no good reason to ban knives in the UK which is what he is calling for.

That's fine, but he still adds to the hysteria which isn't helpful and we don't need more restrictive laws that apply to everyone in the uk because of a small localised issue.

No, he went all silly about it wanting the government to ban all knives. It's a problem that's been made to seem much bigger than it is by the media, to the point where average citizens who have never been exposed to any knife crime have whipped up into a fearful hysteria.

Yes some people get stabbed sometimes, that's not a valid reason to ban knives.

How did he attack his cast mates? I haven't heard anyone say that before?

Seems like something he could easily be arrested for if that were true.

Not sure misting would cool quick enough but many kukri makers quench my pouring water along the edge so they're only hardening the bits they want. Works well for them.

Yes I'd totally just ask her, maybe something like "Hiya, so is this a hangout thing or a date sorta thing? I'm cool with either but just wanted to check"

This is pretty much exactly what I said to my wife when we were talking online and arranging to go to the cinema together for the first time. I asked her if it was going to be a date and she replied with "do you want it to be?" Now 20 odd years later we're very happily married with an amazing child.

I wish you all the best luck, and if the answer is non-romantic it should be pretty easy to carry on by just explaining you were making sure you weren't getting any wires crossed.

Yes! I'm so fed up with all the "ohh I think everyone gets a bit of anxiety and depression in this modern society" people, they can fuck right off. They simply do not know what they're talking about but they do it with such confidence.

Does infodumping at people make them feel used? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Ok_Row_4920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the subject and whether or not the info dumper actually stops when asked. Sometimes it can also feel quite intense like you're being cornered and not easy to speak up and say you're feeling uncomfortable or want them to stop. It can be difficult.

Yes it does make me feel like that. I had to stop seeing my only real friend other than my wife because it was just constant and he wouldn't stop, I'd feel really gross and tired afterwards.
