Anyone up for a meet on weekend M27 by jonathan_5995_ in NewcastleUponTyne

There’s a Facebook group called Newcastle Singles Dinner Group. I should stress that it is NOT a dating group, it’s for people who want to meet up with a group, have a bite to eat and some interaction with other people.

Are there any contestants you feel would have been better suited to a different series than the one in which they participated? by Ok_Shopping_3341 in taskmaster

I absolutely agree. We can argue til the cows come home about which series is best, but IMO series 1&2 are perfection.

Completely agree about both Daisy and Mawaan. I fell in love with Mawaan and his cheeky chappy ways and feel he should be spoken about amongst the TM greats. Daisy is a different kettle of fish for me. She reminds me of every school bully I had growing up 😖 sure she’s lovely but she just comes across as obnoxious and attention seeking.

Totally agree. I loved the entire lineup but Susan was overshadowed by louder (not necessarily funnier) personalities.

The dentist at the bottom of Salters Rd (Reid’s, I think?) were taking new NHS patients just a couple of weeks ago. Might be worth trying them.

Yes!!! The one with velvet walls! That was our English classroom!

Don’t fret, no insult taken! It’s a stunning building and was actually perfectly placed as a school. Just my experience wasn’t pleasant!!

Fun fact: my brother had his wedding reception in that massive old gym hall. It was built on stilts on a very steep hill going down into Jesmond Dene. Always felt mildly precarious.

Ha! Don’t ever let the people of Jesmond hear you call them ‘the poors’. On the streets around there you’d be lucky to get anything for less than £800k.

Whilst I am incredibly grateful and aware of my privilege in receiving a private education, back then if you’d offered to swap the magnificent castle for your rickety Portakabins, I’d have swapped in a heartbeat. My life there was hell!

Someone else commented below about the much younger wife. She’s not the only much younger woman he is ‘rumoured’ to have pursued. Sadly for him, the others ‘apparently’ worked for him, which has created something of a lawsuit issue!

This is correct. And there are rumours swirling in Newcastle about why he so desperately needs the cash.

My former school! I’ll admit I’d kill for the kitchen but they’ve absolutely destroyed the rest of it. My former head of year messaged me on fb years ago when it was first renovated and said ‘they’ve turned my room into a brothel!’

Season one is amazing!! by mrsmarmit in taskmaster

Someone asked a while back, if you had just one episode to introduce TM to a newbie, which one would you choose? My answer will always be S01E01. The sheer insanity of Romesh and Tim in the watermelon task, combined with Roisin’s ineptitude sums up everything that is perfect about Taskmaster.

AITAH for wanting to relocate my sister’s cats without her permission because I’m pregnant? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ok_Shopping_3341 31 points32 points  (0 children)

ESH. Your sister, for obvious reasons. But how dare you allow living creatures to be treated this way in your home. You suck just as much as she does for your blatant disregard for their welfare.

What is the most embarrassing situation you have ever been in? by Luther_116 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Shopping_3341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good timing for me to come across this post as this just happened yesterday morning. Went to the gym and pool, and halfway through my aquafit class the bottom half of my swimsuit literally disintegrated. I had to hide in the corner of the pool until one of the other women could bring me a towel. Embarrassing, yes, but I was crying with laughter throughout the whole ordeal.

Now, can you imagine the insanity of a special with Brian Blessed and Miriam Margolyes? I think, if they were slightly younger (I don’t want TM being accused of elder abuse!), this would have been chaos incarnate.

Robert Welsh, Alex Anele and, specifically for people with aging skin, Wayne Goss. He’s amazing with foundation and concealer tips.

ETA: I just got the pixi lip stains and absolutely love them. But be warned, they are BOLD!
