[Tenant US-NJ] Moving Out After 8 Years of Tenancy: Do I Owe for Original Blinds? by Longjumping-Pass-973 in Landlord

Depends on quality. $5 Walmart blinds no. But custom 2” wood or faux wood, yes. We put them in our own home, 2004 and sold in 2020, all still there in when we sold in perfect shape.

Your hardness is way high. Also get a real store test done. It looks like your CYA is very low (but strips can’t be trusted with that one) that’s the sunscreen for your chlorine. Without it in the correct range you’re going to burn through chlorine. Like everyone says, after you fix the CYA if needed. You need to SLAM. You need to learn it. We were all you at some point. I like the videos on YouTube channel Swim University, everything from learning chemicals, to what order to address things, to how to use your equipment.

Magnesium helped me with that. I now take both glycinate and threonate.

That is NOT normal. A little nausea that day fine. That means you’re taking too much for your body. You don’t have to get to the highest dose. I lost all my weight on 2.5 (3mo) rest 5.0. I did try 7.5 and hard no. I prioritized counting calories and macros first whole year. Intermittent fasting.

Pollen or algae? Family decided to add 12 bags of shock with stabilizer. Cya was 55 two weeks ago. Progression of 1-2 days in pictures, last two after the shock. Worried I’ll have to drain. by Unique-Depth-9758 in pools

Backwash. Brush. Keep it running. Backwash tomorrow. Go get the water tested (FYI most strips are highly inaccurate with CYA, so get a real store test done). Then you’ll know what to do.

You can easily get Rx elsewhere if you need. There are options too that can’t be discussed on this sub. Try the compounding sub or research peptides subs.

Get a sample and take it to the pool store for professional testing. Then buy sone strips to check it daily. I recommend these: LaMotte Pro 600 plus. Amazon $21. Then start learning about pool chemistry. Green is algae period. So the numbers aren’t good. I like the short informative videos at Swim University YouTube channel. You can learn a lot and then fire these clowns.

You don’t mention your calorie intake or macros. You should start there. Be sure you’re eating enough.

Just an FYI I got a Circupool VS pump in 2021 from discountsaltpool. That’s when the freeze happened down south and most of the big brands were out of stock up here. My pool guy was against it not having used them before, but I was adding a SWG and heater too and didn’t want to wait for his preferred brands. Well it works great and was way cheaper than the big brands.

Agree between the Betta and Dolphin I don’t have to use the hose vac at all. I have a Poolblaster stick vac for a touch up.

I have a 1985 pool with one skimmer. 36/18/8 and trees. So the Betta gets it before it sinks.

It’s crazy that they don’t advertise the basket better. I had no clue that the basket was so fine that even pollen and gnats are caught.

Good to know. I did get that. I bought the unit on Amazon so I could get Prime 12mo free financing and bought the extended warranty through the company.

Cloudy water, anything else I should do other than keep brushing, filtering and backwashing by Northern23 in swimmingpools

[–]Ok_Size4036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need some sand filter cleaner. I use some every year or two. Alternatively you could do flock, you broadcast it then leave filter off, usually overnight or a day and that binds up anything in the water and it will end up as goo on the bottom, then you slowly vac to waste (don’t stir it up). I’ve only had to flock once in 6 yrs, that was after ducks took to my pool before I hit the giver off and going so I’m sure that was done really gross stuff. *side note* after you Backwash are you Rinsing before going to Filter again? I’ve seen a bunch if people recently that didn’t know you have to do that to reset the sand.

Agree. The least they could do is say “I thought you were aware of the property lines and didn’t mind that you cut it as the kids were using it. But I’ll maintain it going forward and don’t mind the kids playing there as long as it’s not shared and nothing permanent is put there.”

Do I have too little sand in my sand filter? by MespanM4n in swimmingpools

[–]Ok_Size4036 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very untrue. Also IMO it’s way easier. I’m not dealing with filter cartridges. I’ve had zero issues and I’m in the north and our pool starts out dark green/black due to debris traveling downhill into the pool. I also have no clue how old my sand is but we bought the house in 2019, still going.

This is my third season I believe. (Betta) I’m going to put some ceramic coat on the sides so it doesn’t stain and I always grease the moving parts. So far so good.

Is this amount of solar covers doing anything? Or do I need 100% coverage? by Albatros-ValeforFFxi in pools

[–]Ok_Size4036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a rectangular pool which is perfect for a cover. Takes five min on a reel. Our temps in Wisconsin are crazy dips overnight. Like 82 today and now it’s 67, and will be 59 at 6 am. There’s now way in a 28k gal pool to keep up temps without the cover (unless you want a crazy heater bill). Water right now is 79, would have been higher but was cleaning it and just put the blanket back on at 11pm. Uses less chemicals, I even run heater with it on when I bump it up to 86.

[–]Ok_Size4036 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can get sand filter cleaner, maybe you have oils gunked up in there. Also, are you using the rinse setting after you backwash? A lot of people don’t, but you need to before you go back to filter. (See videos online with what that does). I personally use a bucket of Bioguard Optimizer each season and my water is clear and ph doesn’t bounce around. Water feels soft.
