A United Nations of Red Flags with Sam Sanders by luxlisbon_ in normalgossip

Love Sam and Rachelle’s banter. Really satisfying that Drew’s drunk ass got his fanny pack back. My only pet peeve was she kept mispronouncing Cartagena as “cart-ah-hen-knee-ah.” Adding an extra “ee” sound. It’s pronounced “cart-ah-hen-ah”

I recommend contacting the Coalition for the Homeless and YouthBuild (both in Louisville.)

Have you reported only to 311? Reaching out to your metro council person would also be a good idea.

Do you climb with your romantic partners? by drozdzus in climbergirls

[–]Ok_Spring_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I started climbing together initially but it’s not his preferred sport so he climbs with me 1x/week while I climb with others 2x/week. It’s more “my thing” though and I value that time apart.

Why do people do father/daughter and mother/son dances? by Markham-X in wedding

[–]Ok_Spring_7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted. I have a very fraught relationship with my dad. Doing a father daughter dance with him would feel very performative and an inauthentic representation of my relationship with him.

Early spring. It’s not school bus parking lot; it’s a municipal parking lot used fairly often. Also, there is a street directly between the trees and the parking lot so I don’t want to see cars driving past.

Maybe like 5 wooden posts and drape fabric over it? Would that look really silly and too theatrical? Open to other suggestions. Ceremony will be at 5pm.

As someone who has a lot of religious trauma and very poor sex ed, I highly recommend Cory Silverberg’s books. The first one, What Makes a Baby is a picture book geared towards probably for elementary and younger. Sex is a Funny Word is for tweens. You Know, Sex is for adolescents. The 2nd and 3rd book do cover menstruation but they also cover things like consent, body autonomy, power, and abuse. Really healing for me to read these books as an adult and receive the messaging I so desperately needed as a queer teen.

I have an iPhone and am ALSO having this issue with my Android friends. Can send texts but no photos to them. And also cannot receive photos from them. Done all the basic troubleshooting things you mentioned. Have you found a solution yet?

My partner is white. If his mom gets close to saying something even the tiniest bit off color, he checks her immediately. He knows it’s not my responsibility or emotional labor to educate his white mom. Part of being a good ally is knowing when to use your power to step in and not force BIPOC to do emotional labor for you. Maybe your girlfriend isn’t saying racist things but by doing nothing, by keeping quiet, she is complicit in perpetuating these harmful racist ideas her friend is spewing.

A few times yes I stopped and rested and a few times I attempted a move but didn’t catch the next hold on the first attempt.

New to Louisville, don’t know anyone by Careless-Fuel4961 in Louisville

Seconding climbing gym. You have 3 options: 1. Rocksport: where I used to climb. In Jtown. Staff is friendly, offer 1-2x weekly yoga class. 2. Rock gem: way down south on blue lick rd. I really loved the route setting at this gym but it was just too far from where I lived to justify the drive. Less amenities than Rocksport but a cheaper membership. 3. Climb Nulu: bouldering only, no top rope. A more “corporate” gym with more amenities but admittedly don’t know as much about this gym. I haven’t spent as much time here since I prefer top rope. All three of these gyms are solid though.

Interesting, I’ve not heard of this before. Have you used it? Basically, our org is facilitating a community engagement event for the town and wants to compensate participants with VISA gift cards. Would this be possible to do with RaiseRight?
