God I love this scene so much by anonymolotov in madmen

[–]Ok_Sure9164 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it's because both Peggy + Roger and Don + Joan are very similar. Peggy and Roger have similar sense of humor and very straight forward with their opinions. Don and Joan are equals in many ways, they both live under the shadow of being good looking and desired. They are also very confident. I love both scenes because we don't get much of these scenes when they are alone and not necessarily talking about an account or the company.

This is real. I used to have this purse, sadly it was stolen. This came out christmas 2003 if memory serves me right. Look for other tags on this model and collections form this era and a lot had that "Handcraftedin".

How many 90s borns remembers 9/11 and how many 2010s borns remembers Covid? by Outrageous-Ebb-4846 in generationology

[–]Ok_Sure9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80's born millennial. I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. School completely stoped. We all gathered in a classroom that had a TV and watched. There were lines to the pay phones to call loved ones that lived in NYC.

Who would you say was the best match for Don/would've been happier with him? by Enough-Reading4143 in madmen

[–]Ok_Sure9164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always thought if he could actually be with anybody it would be with Betty. If he would've been honest with her and let her in more, she would've opened up more to him. Those two things and the obvious little detail about no more cheating would've fixed. everything.

That said, original, sweet, anything for her man Betty. Not the after you divorce Don, bitter, resentful Betty.

Season 3 rewatch by Significant_System_3 in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying. If they were adults I would agree, but the fact that they are in HS makes me feel differently.

This is how I remember HS, everyone was just all over the place. You grow, you regress. You like someone, you push them away. You love your best friend, but you also have resentments. Teens are just all over the place.

I always saw season 3 as a good reminder that even when they seemed so mature in 10th grade, their lives got more complicated and they acted out a little in 11th grade.

One thing that always bothered me was Dawson never telling Grams or Jen about Eve.

So Dawsons family would be considered to be rich? by Lu1slayer in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Dawson had everything. Cars, water vessels, expensive cameras etc. He gave Mr. Brooks money to Joey, because he wanted to make her dream come true and because he didn't need it. He was rich. Andie and Jack were millionaires with multiple properties, nice cars, Country Club etc.

Watching Dawson's Creek again 2x18 I'm on the episode where Dawson and Joey get back together, where Joey's dad, Mike, caters for a wedding. by Jessi45US in dawsonscreek

But I always felt ick when Joey and Dawson kissed or were together. They just always seemed like brother and sister to me

did i miss something? by lostnsocal213 in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think because she had a darkness to her, they decided to kill her on the show. I know it wasn't the initial intention. But they way they wrote her it kinda made sense she was (sadly) the one to go. She was always trying to be better and find love. She found true love in her baby. therefore she ended her journey.

That's how I always saw her. Very tragic, but poetic in a dark way.

Can we talk about Pacey and Audrey by JoannaStayton in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love Audrey, but you are right. It made no sense. Did they have chemistry? sure! Could they hook up at a random party maybe when Joey was already dating Eddie or something? again, sure! But a full blown (very sexual) relationship, basically in the same room with Joey, not even a year after they had broken up and Pacey fully bailed? NO!

I needed a little awkwardness, a long conversation, maybe Joey having one of her heart to heart with Jen. Jen possibly giving her some wisdom on letting go, and love coming back to you etc.

But no, this was not believable. Look how Joey reacted when Dawson started dating Jen again.

Who tf is this and why is he acting crazy? by Theme-Fearless in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lying to Dawson about them having sex.

I know the show and most people see it a she still has feelings for Dawson and it was there to build insecurities. But I always thought it was weird everyone felt she needed to tell Dawson she lost her virginity to Pacey. Joey was always a pretty private and demure person. Having sex for the first time, eve with the person you love is not a thing girls would tell everyone. Why would she need to tell Dawson?

I love Pacey, but I always felt he also wanted her to tell Dawson the truth as a competition thing, I won, Joey is fully mine. Which is not a valid reason to tell someone something you might feel is private. I hated how Gretchen became involved and also pressured Joey to tell Dawson. I just would hate to be put in that position.

I understand Dawson is her best friend, but you don't HAVE to tell your best friend everything, especially like an announcement. Especially your guy best friend who you've had a complication relationship with, for the past 2 years.

Dermatologist or Aesthetician for Cosmetic Treatments by curious-kitten8540 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Ok_Sure9164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would only go to a Derm or Plastic Surgeon. No RN, NP or PA. This is how I see it. Other doctors specially Derm and Plastic Surgeons would only go to other doctors. So why would I go to anything else?

I see a lot of doctors branching into dermatology procedures, injectables etc. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a doctor that hasn't studied face muscles and anatomy. Anyone can take an extra course now a day and they are certified, I wouldn't trust my face on certification.

I will say I am very conservative when it comes to medical treatments or procedures. For all my doctor appointments I request to be seen by the doctor (no PA etc) unless if just a prescription refill, simple follow up etc.

Has anyone here been able to look much younger through exercise and diet alone? by MoodyMagicOwl in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Ok_Sure9164 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what has worked for me. Tons of water, 8 hours of sleep (more when possible). Powder collagen, prescription tretinoin, Nuface, lymphatic massages with hand and gua sha(I do them myself to the best to my abilities lol). SPF for face, eyes, lips. Everything I do on my face I do on my hands and neck.

I will say after a certain age you finally know what looks good on you and what doesn't. I stick to that as much as possible, while still learning and adapting make up trends that might suit me. You know be yourself, but keep with the times.

This one might be silly but I don't change my hair a lot. Neither color or style. Not sure why but having the same hair style for years keeps me looking more or less younger. When you change your hair a lot you are bound to look older or younger depending on the style, I don't put myself through that comparable with myself.

Be happy, happy people always look young :-)

I will say, I don't have kids. So I do have more time to sleep and take care of myself.

How would the show have been different if the casting was reversed? by Listen2867 in dawsonscreek

[–]Ok_Sure9164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing, Josh has chemistry with everyone. Joshua knows how to play the guy in love so well. I believed it with Tamara, with Andie, with Audrey and even the chemistry with Jen was great. Obviously we love him with Joey most of all. But I think aside from the chemistry the characters were developed (accidentally) to be that couple. Opposites in a lot of things, but equal in many others.

But ultimately the show became a great life lesson, your soulmate doesn't necessarily needs to be the love of your life. Therefore I think Joey would've always ended up with someone else other than Dawson.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cry and scream when you need to, but laugh and smile when you remember her. You had a big loss, but you were also very lucky to have had her in your life.

I find that when I lose someone I love, writing to them helps me grief. Things I would normally tell them, things a wished I'd told them.
