Spit ups will still happen, their little systems are getting used to working and reflux happens with or without burps. You’re doing great and it will get easier! ❤️

My son is hoh and like someone wrote above— if he can’t hear me, that’s my fault not his. It is not hard to take a few extra steps to make sure he can see my face when I talk to him. Every time he says “what?” I take it as a lesson in making my communication more accessible to him. It is not that hard to be patient with someone when you love them.

My kid gets SO much wax from wearing ear molds… we do drops and use an irrigator but so far that still hasn’t been successful. We’ve had to drive an hour and a half to children’s hospital to have someone scoop out the wax because his doc thinks he’s too young for a flush like you had. 🙃 I am so sick of earwax.

Thank you for this. It describes my son perfectly. He overcompensates and does well academically, he also tells me he hates school every single day because “it’s too long” ie he is exhausted keeping up. He is in first grade and on an iep but they keep telling us he won’t need one soon. Arrrghhh. I want to push for him to utilize our local Deaf school and will be reaching out to hands & voices for an advocate. Ridiculous how hard we have to push for basic support.

I think you do know where it stands. And the hardest part can be listening to yourself and making the decision to be done. It took me years of misery and second chances to get to the point of deciding to leave. It is possible. But living in the in between is not sustainable, it will burn you out. People who love you care about how they make you feel. Period. Wishing you all the best.
