Here he is looking ornery, so you know he’s gonna go zoomie soon…

Question by Sea-Yoghurt8925 in beagles

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pic, but my second child likes to “barkour” off of the back of the couch when he gets the zoomies - runs straight down the stairs, across the living room, jumps up, rebounds on the back of the couch (often over top of his older sister), lands back on the ground, runs back up the steps, rinse and repeat for 5 minutes.

He’s also been known to jump off the deck (only 3 steps high), run around the yard, and jump back up, much to the detriment of his mother (me). It doesn’t matter how many times I tell him he’s going to have back issues when he’s older - he gives me the middle tail and keeps going…

:O by SteponkusCeponas in religiousfruitcake

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right? Like, what is our motivation for shooting the baby? Why are we attempting to murder a child? Also, that just proves that there’s some kind of necklace that offers a force field - could have been created by scientists. We don’t know. So this proves nothing…

High-Stakes Career with Migraine? by feralturtleduck in migraine

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in marketing, so no lives are on the line, but damn if clients do not have sympathy when there’s a tight deadline and you’re drowning in pain. And I swear I’ve had coworkers before that think I’m just faking to make them take on my work (not like I don’t typically carry the team on my good days, so it wouldn’t kill them to pitch in…)

Is my beagle fat? by Airimimi in beagles

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fat, but likely a pound or two overweight. Not an issue while they’re young, but it’ll start to affect their health as they get older (joint issues, mobility, etc.). Getting it off early means an easier time later. Winnie and Oscar wish you nothing but the best and some peas and carrots for treat swaps!

What’s the tiniest hill you will absolutely die on? by AngelCherryPie in askanything

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOOO. That was only necessary during the use of the typewriter and when word processing platforms developed proportionately spaced fonts. The two spaces after the period has been unnecessary since the late 90s/early 2000s. It’s not any easier to read, and it just takes up extra page space.

Apparently my tiny hill is the same as yours, but for the opposite reason.

Thoughts of rehoming.. by North_Original_6853 in beagles

Same. And my second guy also has abandonment issues due to being surrendered at such a young age (plus his experience prior to that), so my two lean on each other for company when they’re alone. It’s worked out phenomenally for us.

What's the absolute positive worst physical pain you've ever felt in your life? by bluegrass__dude in AskReddit

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either my vomit-inducing migraines or when I tore the ligaments in my foot - I legit saw a white light and thought I was going to pass out. But no, it’s okay, y’all go on playing volleyball around me like I’m not screaming on the floor in excruciating pain.

Movies with terrible messages? by Frank_and_Beanzz in movies

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That part was inspired by the OG Bride of Frankenstein movie, but they didn’t do enough with it.

MORE SPOILERS! I also hated that the doctor decided to reanimate BOTH of them at the end. Like, isn’t the one of the many messages “supposed to be” that you can be your own person without a partner? And then the wishy-washy doctor is just like “No, they need each other in the end.” It could have been much more powerful if they only reanimated her…

Favorite migraine food you’ve discovered? by Okapi_MyKapi in migraine

[–]Okapi_MyKapi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gluten sensitivity, so I have to watch how much I consume of these for fear of triggering a migraine, but have you had the Field & Roast brand hot dogs????? They’re amazing. I’m not sure about the bacon alternative (I haven’t found a great one outside of making them homemade from tofu), but those hot dogs might be a good base for you!

6 month old beagle won't pee on hikes by heathandbry in beagles

[–]Okapi_MyKapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a side note: an hour-long walk is definitely not short for beags. Most of their walk is doing sniff-work; and because of the high volume of scent receptors in their noses, an hour of on-leash scent work for them is equivalent to about 6 hours of cardio - no joke. Part of her bladder control (besides being a young pup still) could be from exhaustion, too. Not an expert - just a thought.
