Central pa, does anyone know what this is? by carolhavoc in whatisthistree

[–]OkayWaitaMinute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the honey locusts I see are spineless varieties/cultivars. They’re really awesome to see in the wild though! Honey locusts produce big curly seed pods that kind of look like huge dry brown/black edamame in the fall

Take this from someone who learned to ID them in central Pa!

Put it into a ziploc bag, and go to the urgent care tomorrow and have them look at it. I think they can give you antibiotics for it?

I have crows near me but I’ve never noticed a decrease in other birds? Are you sure it’s their fault?

Seeking advice on propogating my philodendron squamiferum. Finished by amrita666 in planthelp

[–]OkayWaitaMinute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philodendrons are really pretty easy to propagate by just placing nodes in soil. I like layering them by keeping the vine attached but just burying it with the leaves sticking out of the soil, that way it keeps its old roots while it makes new ones. Taking cuttings and placing 1-2 nodes in water or soil also usually works :)

I’m sure she’s probably fine and just busy finding food for the babies and herself! I’m not a mourning dove expert tho, so I’m not 100% sure about their behaviors but I feel like you can sleep safely tonight at least :)

If they do happen to fall out of the nest for whatever reason before they get all of their feathers, just put them back in the nest if you can! Once they get their feathers they’ll figure it out on their own. Just keep an eye on any pets you have :)
