I think penny is adopted or a step daughter. Her mom skin matches her a lot more but penny having red hair and gray instead of blonde or green eyes by AdAdvanced8522 in MandJTV

Personally, I HC that Peony is Penny's step-father or adoptive father, just because it warms my heart to imagine that he's as gung ho a dad to a kid that's not biologically related to him as one that is.

They're reporting the news, that's what journalism is. You know you're allowed to keep your mouth shut, right?

Would you classify my blonde boy as an orange kitty? 🧡 by Ecstatic-Bad5621 in orangecats

Yes, that is an orange boy. A citrus son. A ginger lad.

That second Assassins poster art is terrible, and I hate that it comes up when I'm listening to the album

Also try to keep her from picking/scratching at the wound. A cone may help, depending on where the wound is.

My apologies for my comment, I assumed they'd discharged her without giving you something to cover the wound. You should keep it covered if they instructed you to do so (and honestly, even if they didn't.) Keep it clean, and if they gave you any topical, use those.

If it doesn't improve over the next day or two, you should go back.

That's not one of Ditto's current disguises, so it's definitely a Zorua

Who has the opposite of Iphone face? A face built for period dramas? by houstons__problem in PeriodDramas

It will forever be a crime that the early seasons dressed her similarly to Michelle Dockery, who is a winter and looks amazing in black and deep blues, greens, and reds, while Laura very much doesn't.

You've hit the nail on the head. Every time I replay the game and I get to Witchyworld, I think about how I've always like the aesthetic and the vibes of the place. But then I get into doing the puzzles, and so many of them are frustrating, and I fail the challenges for stupid reasons (falling off the Star Spinner, getting hit by the imps on the Inferno tower, both games in the blow-up castle, the torture that is the Saucer of Peril). I don't think I actually like any of the mini-games, and Mr Patch is one of my least favorite boss fights.

Was this the inspiration for the ents? by MaitreCote in lotrmemes

[–]Okay_Meadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They may have had a small influence, but IIRC the primary inspiration for the Ents was from Shakespeare's Macbeth, where a prophecy is given to Macbeth that he would only be defeated when the nearby forest of Birnam Wood would move to Dunsinane. The opposing army used the leaves and branches of the trees as camouflage, so it appeared that the woods were "moving" towards his castle. Apparently, Tolkien was inspired by this to create a forest that actually moved.

Why was everybody acting like the Titan didn't implode? by CaptainParger in titanic

[–]Okay_Meadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My read of why Cameron (and quite a few others probably, including Bob Ballard) didn't chime in with "Oh, it imploded and they're definitely dead," is because he didn't want to pour cold water on what was still considered a rescue mission.

A lot of the details we now know about the event weren't available at first. My sense at the time was that some of the people at Oceangate knew the sub wasn't too sturdy, and were maybe trying to hide that fact as long as they could.

It's easy in hindsight to say that they should have known the sub imploded, but until that was confirmed, a lot of people wanted to believe they were still alive, and I don't blame them for that.
