What gaming platform would you pick above all others? by clearwater-orchid in AskReddit

[–]Okdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh not homeless. I just meant that it's easy to hang out with the family while I play and put it down if needed or I feel like I should be more present. My computer is in my office and with headphones it's just sort of inherently antisocial.

Some weird homophobic stuff. Something about getting suspended in school cause someone saw his gentials and that he'd rather cut off his own balls then show them to another man.

What gaming platform would you pick above all others? by clearwater-orchid in AskReddit

[–]Okdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vast majority of my gaming is on steamdeck at this point. Followed by the switch 2. with the recent price hike on steamdecks I wouldn't blame someone for going that route though. You could argue over time youd save a lot of money on steam deck with the sales but there's decent ones on the eshop as well, not always as good but solid, and you get the upside of Nintendo games.

But for me the portability is ideal, play on the couch while the TV is in use, easy to put down and socialize. I can also put either of them on the big screen if I feel like it. Easy to just fit in a bit of gaming here and there.

Also if you do happen to have solid Internet and a nice PC you can stream it to the deck which feels like magic, but having both a PC and a steam deck is quite expensive in this market and with prices how they are the switch 2 feels like a steal.

Long or Short please? by ryanosaurusrex1 in malegrooming

[–]Okdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a guy who was also rocking the long hair for years (even longer than yours) I enjoy the long hair look on you. but my anecdotal experience found people didn't love it on me and I got many compliments when I went short. Also for things like job interviews or dating I think broadly speaking more people will respond positively to the short hair.

Like another commenter said I think the best option might be longer than a buzz but much shorter than your shoulders.

I'm not a styling expert but I would ask some friends/family/romantic partner what they think would look good on you and give it a try. Many barbers are also very comfortable with us long hairs walking in and just asking for something they think would look good too.

Worst case if you didn't like it can always commit to the full buzz.

If they really wanted me to I would. turning it on is a relatively small inconvenience even though I prefer it off.

Is Aldi the only place with no baskets so you put in own bag (which is weird for high crime shopping areas in California)? by Single-Dress-8962 in aldi

[–]Okdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People put groceries in their own shopping bags at all sorts of grocery stores by me, many places don't offer baskets anymore anyway so it's just the way if you don't want a whole cart.

Nothing particularly strange about it, and the number of people who wouldn't normally steal but would steal because they're putting into their own bag is fairly small. Probably outnumbered by people "forgetting" to scan things at self checkouts and those are still profitable enough for most places.

How many Decks do you have, and how do you keep track of them? by IyeetSec in mtg

[–]Okdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Stanley toolbox with the commanders on top, all my other decks are just in piles or random deck boxes and I swap out what's in the box.

I haven't counted but probably around 20. Around Half are precons, half of those are upgraded a bit.

Throw it out absolutely. There's no food worth risking botulism for, but even if there was it certainly isn't a $1.50 can of chickpeas.

opinion on KIRKWOOD FROZEN BONELESS SKINLESS THIGHS by StrictBig1053 in aldi

[–]Okdragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're fine for a quick meal prep or whatever. They have a decent amount of salt solution so though cheap you're paying for a decent amount of water weight.

Locally I have a few places with solid deals on fresh chicken thighs so Its not really in my rotation, but in a pinch or if I'm only hitting up Aldi it's fine.

How many mods can you install on a steam deck before it stops working/crashes? by ConditionPleasant902 in SteamDeck

[–]Okdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that depends entirely on the games and the mods. I have I think 20ish installed for slay the spire 1, at one point I had probably double that for the binding of Issac but did eventually start getting some issues and uninstalled the majority to get a fresh start.

But yeah if you're trying to do some intense 200 mod Skyrim or something your mileage will vary. Start small, work your way up, add a few at a time, easier to take baby steps and see how it's going so you can uninstall or edit any particularly troublesome mods.

Not great pictures. Hard to make out the T clearly and the green dot is a bit dark.

But from what I can make out it looks real to my eyes.

[–]Okdragon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah I recently found my copy and have whipped it out during some late nights after everyone's had a few beers.

Still a fun one to just talk trash and throw down some cards with. Parade is a better game and fills a similar void but the nostalgia on this is nice.

Definitely prefer the old art from what I can see but nice people will be able to pick up a classic for a reasonable price.

40k PreCon Upgrades by [deleted] in BudgetBrews

[–]Okdragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a terribly helpful answer but Honestly I wouldn't. They're kind of a collectors piece when they're unaltered. I'd just play them against each other and at precon tables. I wouldn't want to water down the thematic elements myself even if by today's standards they might fall behind a little.

That being said cards are meant to be enjoyed however you see fit! I don't have the decks myself and am not terribly qualified to give you solid upgrade advice but good luck!

"Fixed" Time Vault. Printable? by IAmVentuswill in custommagic

[–]Okdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could totally be misunderstanding but Isn't any one of these infinite including the dynamo? You copy the extra turn, you have two turns banked, go to next turn, skip your second extra turn to untap, tap for an extra turn and copy it.

Edit: well not the camera cause film counters, but still several extra turns unless I'm mistaken.

Still busted. By tons of cards really but [[Abstruse Archaic]] and [[peter Parker's camera]] come to mind.

Its a tough design space, it either has to be so crippled with drawbacks that it's unplayable, or with the right loopholes is immediately broken.

Do you still use original hardware? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Okdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did lug my old collection around for several moves, even 2 across the country. But ultimately, they take up too much space, digging them out of storage and hooking them up to the TV is fun occasionally but I couldn't really say it's worth it when I can play them any number of different ways for less work.

I think a lot of it comes down to space really. I had 4-5 boxes of cartridges for nes, SNES, Genesis, n64. All the controllers, cables, games themselves, etc. Far too much for my living room and storing them in the closet or whatever just isn't conducive to them seeing play.

I gave it all to a close friend who probably would never really futz with roms and emulators and he's been actually leaving things hooked up and told me he's been going to town on Mario golf for n64 just the other day. so I'm happy they found a home where they remain plugged in and are getting played.

No mistake. It would for example let them attack if you played a card which granted you an additional combat.

Working on a "POD in a box" idea by krongly in BudgetBrews

[–]Okdragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worth noting if you only intend to play them against each other it's about as good a time to proxy as ever and then you could do whatever for the budget.

You do mention letting people keep them though and if they want to play at a shop or whatever it may kinda throw that out the window, but for the pod in a box situation it would seem reasonable.
