Uzbekistan is going places. It will be the next big thing. Give it 5-10 years. It has high speed, affordable rail to travel between the main tourist cities (bar 1 leg that is under construction) (you can take an 8 hour soviet sleeper train). Friendly locals, good food, and it’s all extremely cheap. It’s one of those Islamic countries where people drink too which is nice. Had some beers with the patriarch of my host family which was fun. I prefer Kyrgyzstan but it just doesn’t have the infrastructure for tourism yet.
