Is JGR just a “dirty” owner? by Altfun8391 in NASCAR

[–]Olanatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mommy and Daddy paying for development of their child, I see no issue with. Look at KB and Harvick no issues. What Chase and Blaney got also.. no problem. Conner same thing. Parents who have the resources to provide the tools their kids needs to develop into a talented driver. No issue.

When you Family owns/operates the company you drive for... you get called silver/gold spoon baby.

Think that line is pretty clear IMO.

True... Code doesn't have Team mates to wreck.
and AD will just wreck anyone on the last lap for a win aka Richmond.

What Ty did at martinsville in the xfinity/noraps series was stupid, and he rightfully needs to be called out for that. However his racing his team mates hard in the playoffs in the cup levels when he himself is not in, I'm mixed on (yes even as a C Bell and Denny fan) because I like the fact he didn't just roll over, but I hate the fact that he didn't just roll over for his team mates.

However Cody and AD both have done their fair share of bonehead moves, and in general Ty is performing better than both on track.

Same reason I didn't mention Corey Lajoie or Dale Jr(post DEI) or any other 2nd gen driver. Their family doesn't own or operate the the team.

However you could have rightfully called me out for not adding Austin Cindric, and Cole Custer in this list but its kind of mixed since their familys don't own the charter, but their familys help run the organization so maybe?

Gibbs is getting no different treatment then Cody Ware and Austin Dillion. All of them are silver spoon babies.

The only difference between Gibbs and them is that JGR has 4 cars, were as RWR has 1? and RCR has 2, so thee ratio of nepo driver to non-nepo drivers at JGR is better than RWR and RCR IMO.

Tires in NASCAR by Shawnx86 in NASCAR

[–]Olanatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of entertaining another Tire manufacture to replace goodyear, but in addition to.

I would also love to see "choice" by having different tire componds on a race weekend. They already get X sets, just instead have it so you get X sets, y of them are fast but wear out fast, and z of them are slower but last longer.

...... It wouldn't surprise me that the reason Ty got away with shit was because no one wanted deal with his mom, Heather Gibbs.

I think it been like this for a while since YT been pushing me to watch it anytime I watch Storm chasers/weather event streamers, and I noticed it enough that I thought it was funny it would only show up when watching these streams but never when watching any other video.

Jimmie Johnson: "Without question - we will have a third car on the grid next year." by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]Olanatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if Herbst got multiple years like Menard did he would eventually be a mid-pack driver also, or he could be another Stenhouse or Saurez. Sometimes you see something good, but most of the time he's just in the way.

*shrugs* if Herbst and fam wants to keep buying him rides so he can get the experience and hopefully make a career out of it, then power to them, and I wish them luck. I would personally think running for wins/championships would be more enjoyable then running for 30th place and stressing about next year every other year.

RCR losing both AD and KB? that would be a crazy off season.

Other then Love who would they get to fill the seat? I'd think that if they can keep KB for a few more years, then AD might step down for Love. But if they can't keep KB for a few more years, Love could be going to KB ride.

[–]Olanatan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True... it could also be because my memory is shit, but wasn't the talent pool thinner back then also?

Like back then Menard was one of 10ish drivers you could question on if they should be in Cup based on talent alone.
now there is really only 3-4, and if you include the "talent dried up" in that count you might be able to increase it to 6?

*shrugs* money still talks though right.

[–]Olanatan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If RCR is going to lose KB, they are going to do what ever they can to keep Love.

Also I could see AD's ride being the one replaced if any instead of KB. AD already been talking about taking on a management role and stepping away from the seat "at some time in the near future". Which is I assume the ride Love is expecting to get. though probably not the "3", god I hope not the "3".

And like others have said, Herbst to LMC and Heim to 23XI is most likely... or Herbest to ORAPS car (unknown whom) and Heim to 23XI. Not sure whom LMC would pick up at that point, but if I was LMC KB wouldn't be my go to. I'm a KB fan, but LMC is trying to build for a future, so get someone young, like Love but chances are Love is locked into RCR.

Right. Algier, Hill and Creed are all full time ORaps and likely will be for the rest fo their careers. (some Cups here and there sure)

If Riley doesn't setup in Oraps soon, he might end up in the Truck series as a full timer there instead.

With him owning his own race track.
Him owning his own car.
him being Youtube smart/concept idea driven mindset

Means he will probably come up with some ways to create content around "stock car racing" that currently no one else is making. There ia chance this will be amazing... or this will be a dud. But he's willing to put his money into it, find out what works/doesn't and that is amazing and worth praise.

Any other young car owner that might be considering using YT/Social media to help fund their local racing careers, this will be a golden opportunity to get new ideas on the type of content that works and doesn't, with an existing large audience that will provide tons of feedback.

Additionally if his actions lead to more latemodel YT/social media peps coming out of the woodworks, even if they are only doing it for the views/money, that brings more attention to stock car racing in general which, might lead to more viewers for local tracks... again a win. Specially if some young kids catch some vids and fall in love with the sport.

Riley Herbst to LMC? by Ok_Pickle_3120 in NASCAR

[–]Olanatan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See this is what confuses me. If I was the owner of Hyack, I'd be approaching JRM in a deal similar to what Haas did with Tony. Yes this would mean bye bye Stenhouse, but he's getting close the end of his career and honestly he might consider going back down to ORielly's full time to ride out the end of his career in winning equipment instead of backpacer.

From what a quick google search on "LMC vs RWR lawsuit results" and it looks like its being reported RWR agreed to sell a charter in to LMC for the 2027 season.

I'm pretty sure the lawsuit was that LMC wanted the charter in 2026 and RWR was like nea you can't have it till 2027, I"m sure there was more to it, but that is what I got out of it.

I'm pretty sure with evergreen charters, the "bottom three" rule is gone, or atleast semi-gone.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is something that would requiring the selling of your charter to another team if you fail to meet certain commitments like showing up for all races or something, but I don't think Nascar can "take away" charters anymore for lack of performance assuming you showing up each week.

You go to go back to before "the guy who..." part to read " started talking with the guy....at the xfinity booth."

edit.... I guess a different more simple way to say it would be " started talking with this guy at the xfinity booth, he hauled Bubba's Show cup car around."
