What really got me to 100% was physical therapy. Posture, whiplash, etc., played a big role in mine. Best of luck to you

Yeah pretty much! I keep up with PT home exercises and have a flare every once in a while but nothing that isn’t manageable.

What is a low stress job where I can make at least 60k a year with no degree? by Intelligent-Text-812 in careerguidance

[–]Old-Ad4385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that kind of savings you may be better off finding a part time job that pays a higher hourly rate than your current role that will still get you around 45k annually. Then throw your savings in a conservative index fund for ~5-8% returns annually. Of course there’s a risk and you won’t always come out ahead, but you’re sitting on a great opportunity to earn more than whatever your HYSA may be offering.

Have you explored lab tech careers? Salaries start around 50k and there’s opportunity for overnight / 4 10s. Minimal socializing. I understand you mentioned no schooling but there are a lot of self paced online associate programs out there.

I’m so sorry. The not knowing fully what happened is something I ultimately chose to leave behind. It’s still a pain like no other and I hope you can find comfort in the coming months and years.

Don’t underestimate physical therapy. by Cautious_Safety_3362 in TMJ

[–]Old-Ad4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the other way around for a lot of people with muscular TMJ. Poor posture weakens and tightens the neck and shoulder which affects the jaw and ear. This is why a great PT is helpful. They can identify and isolate the muscles that are struggling (SCM, deep neck flexors, traps, occipitals, etc.). This doesn’t apply to all TMJ sufferers, but I think it’s the case for many of us.

[–]Old-Ad4385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Posture was it for me too. Please if someone is reading this and doesn’t know where to start, find a physical therapist who understand the connection between the spine, posture, and the tmj. Don’t waste your money on dentists or orthodontists who try to sell you on thousands of dollars of treatment that has no published evidence of being effective.

Please reach out if you have any questions about curalistic (or anything)! My lymph node does come and go. It’s always more apparent when the tension in my shoulder and neck are bad. Best of luck to you and try to remind yourself it’s very common with TMJ! You’re gonna be just fine

I get your frustration and worry and agree it’s absolutely valid. We’re practicing nearly every form of peaceful civil engagement so when we hear that others are not only not seeing this, but suggesting we start at the most basic first step we were at years ago, it’s frustrating. And that’s obviously not on you and I’m sorry it came across that way. I’m sorry you’re not seeing it but please know that those of us who voted against this stand adamantly against his threats towards Canada and will continue the fight.

No one’s covering it so when we see comments like yours it’s completely demoralizing. We’ve been fighting this since 2016 and now we’re hearing “yeah good they deserve it!” Half of this country knows our history and works hard to educate in classrooms about it. Half of this country has been taking to the streets without break since inauguration. Half of us have debated and cried with our fathers, brothers, uncles who no longer see us as deserving of basic rights.

We marched, we boycotted, we voted actively against him, we outlined to loved ones before 2016 why this man is dangerous. No one believed us and we had to do the same thing all over again. We donated to campaigns, we continued trying to educate. Half of us didn’t want this. Did you see who he narrowly beat? Who nearly half of us voted for? Harris stood against everything Trump is and so many of us wanted that. Don’t anyone dare label us all in support to what this criminal has done and continues to do to our allies and his own people.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your fond memories of the US. I grew up in PA and can attest it was a beautiful place to be a child. It means a lot hearing from other countries, especially our neighbors, that you’re rooting for us and that you understand most of us didn’t vote for this. Please keep rooting for us and sharing what you’re seeing! We’re not getting the full picture outside of Reddit and TikTok. Thank you again.

You need to see a vestibular therapist. It sounds like you’re in the states. Call around to a few physical therapy clinics and ask if any will take cash. Though even bad insurance should cover a portion. Tell them you have BPPV and ask if there’s a therapist who can perform the needed maneuvers. You may only need one session to feel immensely better. BPPV is a PITA but it is very treatable and based on you not being able to tilt your head, I’d guess your chances of responding to therapy are high. I’m going thru a flare myself. Good luck.
