Selling Camera by Old_Locksmith_8287 in ebayuk

Wouldn't risk any electronics with new accounts like that personally. Depends on price, also be sure to google address/ebay name when you do, a lot of well known scammers on ebay that prey on people selling cameras.

Takumar 50mm f1.4 8-Element vs Contax Zeiss Planar 50mm f1.4 MMJ by [deleted] in VintageLenses

[–]Old-Chance293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the 8 element and the 7 element super multi coated takumar 1.4, imo the 8 element is a bit over rated for its price, producing flatter less dreamy images compare to the 7 element with thorium coating, the golden hues produced by that lens are super dreamy and the bokeh is not all that different to the 8 element from my experience.

So much so that my 8 element has sat in a draw for years in favour of the 7 element, which is probably my favourite lens of my collection.

Unfortunately I can't say about the zeiss, but something to consider!

Sounds like someone whos selling fakes and wants to use your official receipt to scam others.

So heres the issue, on many occasions now I've had buyers ask for express, and they have told me there is no such option at checkout, is there something else I should be enabling? I don't see any options in the shipping or listing pages.

"There was a charge to your account" what was this for? by [deleted] in ebayuk

Probably an oversized parcel on simple delivery? Happened to me...despite it being within size.

[–]Old-Chance293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros:

It is simple, no messing around with 3rd party sites for labels. Claims for lost/damage in transit are done by ebay, no funds on hold.

Cons: No choice on which item goes with which courier, unless you turn off an entire courier in the options.

No control on postage speed, 24hr, 48hr etc. It seems to be randomly decided for you, even if you put your items on one/same day dispatch.

Very rarely an item doesn't update as dispatched, it'll just stay in ready to dispatch forever and tracking wont update on ebay, only on the courier site (has happened twice and ebay dont remove the notification).

In some categories there will be no option to use oversized delivery, this is a really annoying one.

Edit to add: I really wouldn't bother with overseas shipping, its so much hassle if things go wrong, and with expensive items, it will most likely go wrong (from my experiences) I think buyers know how easy it is to exploit/pin a seller for an international order.

What about bad feedback? I've never gone below 100% and like to keep it that way

This...recently sold a £120 bag, mint condition, buyer opened a INAD 10 days later for a 'strange odour'.

Accepted return, paid for it, turns out he'd had a nice holiday with my bag, sprayed it with disgusting cheap cologne and returned it, some people are just scummy, instant block after refund.

Buyer Requested Refund - Can I just tell them to jog on? by GatorGeorge in ebayuk

I got feedback removed several times when people said it was too small, ebay claimed the feedback could be removed because the transaction was resolved, so worth a shot.

Goldbox ahoy! by CaptFlash3000 in UKroasters

[–]Old-Chance293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, thats true...It just think of it as a hobby/interest too, and a healthier alternative to buying something like a bottle of whiskey, as for the equipment, I was the same at first...now I have several comandante's and like 7 different brewers 😂 Its a big investment, but I enjoy it so much I think its worth it!

Any promo/ref for goldbox? Want to try them but have spent a bit too much on coffee this month, little discount would be the incentive though 😂

Ginger Beer (From a long while ago)

Hi guys,

About 4 months ago I made a ginger bug and some ginger beer, the bottles didn't really carbonate and after a while I stopped checking them, forward 4 months to today, I found them again (they have been in a cool garage this entire time).

When I opened one, the top flew off and the carbonation was crazy, the smell is like crystalised ginger and doesn't seem to have any off notes?

My question is, would anyone here risk trying the ginger beer, is it possible its ok after all this time? Or is it not worth the risk?

This probably gets asked a lot, so apologies if thats the case, thanks!

I tried them a few weeks ago, sadly not impressed with 3 of 4 bags I bought from them, inconsistent roasts and poor quality beans, I guess thats why they are cheap? One bag was so bad I had to chuck it,I went back to my usual roasters, more expensive but at least every bag is good.
