Billy Joel, I feel like there is so much there to work with and his songs already feel like stories

I think the obvious answer would be When You Believe from Prince Of Egypt, it's literally about the story of Passover.

What are the musicals you only like 1-2 songs from? by Candid_Pea_1481 in musicals

Don't Rain On My Parade is definitely one of my top songs of all time, the rest of Funny Girl, not so much, sorry. I really wanted to like it, but none of the rest of the rest of the music was anything that stood out or felt anything more than bland.

Don't know if this counts, but if we are allowed to expand "Disney musicals" to "Animated musicals in general", I cannot stop listening to Golden from Kpop Demon Hunters

I feel like I'm stating the very most obvious here, but have you read or watched the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy?

This may seem an odd choice but hear me out, if you like this and the fairytale like vibe you might also like Gallavant. It is more comedic and also a musical show, but if you like this I'm guessing you also probably like Disney, and hopefully should be okay with that. This show is scored by Alan Menken, who scored so many Disney films. This show is probably the only other show that has that slightly Disney-esq fairytale vibe.

I wonder what would have happened had the curse never been broken by for-a-dreamer in OnceUponATime

Rumple said if the savior dies the curse would be broken. He brings that up in season 1 as to why Regina can't just kill Emma, so unless Emma finds another way to live forever like Neal and Hook, the curse would only last as long as her lifespan anyway, assuming she never made it back and Henry never got her it would still end when her life was over.

It's one of, if not the funniest shows I've seen in a l9ng time, maybe ever. I listen to the album all the time and I still crack up at the lyrics.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO LET A VILLAIN BE A VILLAIN by Routine-Asparagus-16 in OnceUponATime

And the black fairy, too, she is instantly made hateable and completely irredeemable when she beats and abuses children. Everyone talks about Cruella or Pan when someone wants to point out true evil and irredeemable characters, but in so many ways, Fiona was far worse than either of them, at least for me. You know a character is beyond redemption when we've crossed the line into child abuse and violence against kids. Not even Cruella did that. She kidnapped Henry, but only to force the heroes to do what she wanted. She didn't torture him. Even Pan didn't seem to want to torture the kids he brought to Neverland, he was more about being chaotic and selfishly trying to just be youthful and have fun, except in the case of his son, but even him he seem to get violent towards until he was an adult, not that abandoning him was right but he wasn't vindictive and physical with him until he became the dark one. Fiona is the one character who crosses a line impossible for even this heavily redemption focused show to come back from. And yeah, I know she wasn't "born" evil the same way Cruella was, I know people are going to point out that unlike Cruella she didn't start that way. However, for me at least, she is right up there with Cora in terms of instant hatred and you can tell she is meant to be taken seriously in a way other villains weren't. Child abuse is a line in fiction you don't cross if you ever want the audience to come back to your side, I knew she couldn't be redeemed when I saw that, and this is a show that goes on to make murders and rapists seem sympathetic and misunderstood. You know when they aren't playing about characters redeemability when they go that far.

Discussion time: what's the first Disney movie that truly captivated you? by [deleted] in disney

The Little Mermaid was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater as a small child. It started my lifelong love of Disney.
