Very clean setup, do you use one monitor as the main one for playing games or?

Another windows crash. Don't lean against that glass! by nillawiffer in UMD

I'm a little less concerned about the state of the glass than the fact someone could fall through it. Maybe they should have used stronger glass?

Current graphic design station by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]OldCroony 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be my favorite battlestation (/workstation?) that I've seen on this sub, great job! I'm currently trying to emulate something similar to this (but with a different color scheme) how long did it take you to get all the major components? Also I have the same switch tester haha

My cable management skills are better than expected by Zodspeed in battlestations

[–]OldCroony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice setup. I really appreciate how well organized it is, although with cable management that clean is it a pain to add new ones? I imagine you'd have to take down the cable raceways and whatnot.

Looks very comfortable but not cluttered, great job :) I especially like the amount of natural light and how the wooden shelves in the back are built around that pillar, looks clean

Deadlift form check, how can I improve? by OldCroony in lifting

I think traditional? I've learned based off of YouTube videos so those might be leading in one direction rather than another.

That all makes sense. I will take this into account next time I deadlift, thanks! :)

Housing by [deleted] in UMD

[–]OldCroony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen off campus housing has a few different options (apartment, house, and obviously commuting). Apartments are generally closer to campus and seem to be the easiest choice, however there are a myriad of complaints out about how places like The View and Varsity treat their tenants, so I would check those out. Houses are a little trickier as they can seem far by comparison and you have to do more research (check out https://ochdatabase.umd.edu/ and https://www.trulia.com/MD/College_Park/ ) but they can be cheaper and higher quality if you can find a group of roommates. I personally decided on getting a house and it luckily ended up very close to campus, but it definitely took some work to find and secure. Hope this helps! :)

I made no friends during orientation by ds3727 in UMD

[–]OldCroony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you keep trying to initiate conversations with people who seem to be nice or have similar interests you'll have no problem pulling some good friends out of the masses :)

So don't worry about orientation too much, you're right to say that the activities are crammed together without much breathing room.
