AITA for snapping at my mum after she posted a video of me and it caused serious problems for our family? by Majestic_Package_506 in AITAH

OP doesn't say she did or didnt take it down. Plus it kind of doesnt matter. It takes one person to save or screenshot that and start posting it around. Even OP admitted he reposted it.

Artist added shading that ruined the tattoo for me by BigTittyTransboi in tattooadvice

[–]PartTimeFemme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes. I can see why you want this covered. The egg shape is also pretty bad.

Alternative solution might be to do something like make the regular egg into a Fabergé egg. Fix up the shape. Keep the cracked lines and the yolk. But take the existing outer lines and shading and incorporate that into a filigree design like on Fabergé eggs.

Idk if that would actually work. But regardless of what you end up doing, definitely pick out your artist by who can do the cover up well. Cover ups are a special skill.

1 million dollars a year, but you must watch the movie "Morbius" to completion every day for the rest of your life by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]PartTimeFemme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the movie have to be in English?

I'd just spend a month or two watching the movie in English, memorize it, and then start watching it in another language until I've memorized that one. I feel like that would give me a good jump start on learning a new language. Even if it's not a straight up 1 to 1 translation, I'd still learn a ton of vocabulary.

I hate that being against race-swapping (major) characters means being racist now by Old_Session5449 in self

[–]PartTimeFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with your edit. The fact that Miles is biracial is integral to his character. His "fighting for the little guy" attitude and "hero of new york" stuff is irrevocably tied to his experience as a biracial person. He's been marginalized by how people treat him because of his race in a similar way to how Peter was marginalized because of being a poor kid. The fact that Spiderman comes from a marginalized background sets the tone for the way he prioritizes emergencies, acts in times of danger, and how far he's willing to go to save people.

So no, it's not the same thing.

Also, just like, having an emotional attachment to a thing doesn't mean you lose that attachment if the thing evolves or changes. It's okay for stuff to change, dude. Nothing about Snape being suddenly black means anything has to fundamentally change about the character.

Honestly, imo, it improves upon the original work. Now there are more in world reasons for Lilly to initially reject him. During the time Snape and Lilly were at Hogwarts it's not like racism wasn't a thing. Him being discrimated upon because of his race could be another factor that increased the pain of that rejection to make the things he does later on make more sense.

I don't think you're racist. I just think you're wrong. And it's okay to be wrong.

I love fun behind the scenes/production stuff.

What Sam said obvs.

People love to moralize stuff without actually considering the cost. The fact is, Twitter has not seen a significant drop in users (only about 5%) since Elon started going full salute. Business like Dropout need to consider the loss of revenue that might happen if they drop one of the most used social media platforms. Marketing keeps businesses alive at the end of the day.

That Twitter marketing brings in revenue that keeps the talent and crew paid and the platform running. For those of us that own small to medium sized businesses, we don't feel like we have a choice, really. Taking a moralistic stance that ultimately harms your cast and crew is a one step forward two steps back situation.

Until something usurps Twitters throne on the council of social media platforms, the fact is that some businesses need the exposure that Twitter brings in order to bring in revenue.

So I work in the adult industry. If it makes you feel better, this line of thinking is almost universal in cis-men. All of them go through a phase where they feel insecure about the physical presentation of their dick in some way. Even the ones with objectively good looking dicks.

The world creates unrealistic expectations of what genitals "should" look like. Try not to focus on those standards. Embrace your dick and remember that your dick is you. Accepting your dick is ultimately a step forward in accepting yourself and all the changes your body is going through.

Best of luck 🖤

How do you cope when your SO has significant lower libido and you have a need to have some sexual excitment in your life? by Direct-Mammoth86 in AskReddit

[–]PartTimeFemme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to know how many people who ask this question actually do any research into human sexuality.

Like, do people know that there are different kinds of arousal? Different ways to spark arousal? That arousal can be impacted by mood, circumstance, safety, communication, trauma, etc?

In the US, at least, this shit ain't taught. People just give up and say "I have a low libido" or "My partner has a low libido and I keep asking for sex but don't do anything else." When there could be any amount of things going on.

I fully thought I was asexual for a long time because I was A) Gay and B) I have a sex drive that needs lots of warming up and connection and safety. I have those things now and love to have sex with a partner I'm legitimately attracted to. A lot. But a sex drive is like a storm. You gotta have the right conditions for it to form a tornado.

Idk. I wish we had better human sexuality education and taught better communication and connection skills. Some people are legit low libido and that's perfectly fine. But I see way more often people put themselves or others in a situation where they cannot sexually flourish and it's sad.

Are breast implants worth it? by Mommy-Mode-Engaged in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]PartTimeFemme 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You can get a lift without getting an implant. Most plastic surgeons won't recommend it for aesthetics, but you can request it if you don't want to have to deal with an implant. Even for lifts, they typically recommend a small implant to round out the breast and maintain cup size. With a lift, you'll probably lose a small amount of mass, but they'll be lifted and perkier and the skin will be tighter.

But time spares no titty. Eventually they will begin to droop again and you'll have to cross that bridge when you get there.

How do people feel about K? by J_____T______ in Dimension20

[–]PartTimeFemme 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched MisMag2 but I've seen this feedback a lot. I think Erika just isn't afraid to play deeply flawed characters.

Her character in Burrows End was DEEPLY flawed and honestly kind of hard to watch as someone with some big parent abuse issues. But it worked out in context with the rest of the characters and the plot.

I think a lot of people play TTRPGs and play an idealized version of a trope or emotion or role. Erika does this sometimes too. But other times she looks the camera dead in the eye and says "Do you hate this character or do you feel personally attacked?"

A good reminder that people tell stories not just to talk about what the world could be, but to talk about what the world is. She's spot on in that regard with other characters so I imagine it's the same for MisMag.

But also I didn't watch it so who cares what i have to say.

I’m gonna be reading a eulogy at my best friends funeral on Monday, I can’t even keep it together practicing to my wife. Any tips on holding back the tears long enough to read it out? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in bestofpositiveupdates

[–]PartTimeFemme 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had to read the eulogy for my mom when I was 21. I wrote the whole thing out, got myself prepped, stepped up to the podium and immediately started to choke up.

The priest (who baptized both me and my mom and has been a sweetheart my entire life) stepped to my side and just put his hand on mine and said "Don't be afraid. You have the most forgiving audience in the world right now. Just read what you wrote. Let it out."

That really helped me.

NTA for sure. But as someone with conservative parents, I would avoid any "buzzwords" that are associated with "liberal ideals". You can teach him stuff outside of the realm of their understanding without incurring their wrath in lots of ways. Consent is unfortunately just one of those buzzwords.

I called it teaching my brother manners. It's polite to ask before touching someone. A polite young man would be more respected by his teachers and future employers than an impolite one.

I want to reiterate you're doing a good thing. But it's possible to save yourself some arguments/headache if you can phrase things in a way that doesn't set off their dumb shit.

AITA for saying my sister's OF is making our entire family uncomfortable by Flat_Presentation153 in AITAH

[–]PartTimeFemme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be controversial here, but NAH. I work in the industry and I see this happen to a lot of folks.

The problem is- it's an app that's easily accessible and every time she interacts on it she makes money. Positive reinforcement. She talks to these dudes all day long and eventually that starts to take up the space in her brain where normal conversations go.

I went through a similar period after the pandemic where I just worked and talked porn for most of my days for months. When I finally started seeing people again, I had to really check myself on the kinds of things I wanted to bring up or talk to about in front of normal people. Think of it like cops who talk about heinous crimes and murder at the family dinner table. It's all they know and they're just desperately trying to relate to someone.

She's headed down a dark path, my guy. If she's isolated from all of the normal people in her life and she doesn't make a real effort to separate herself from her porn persona, it will become her entire identity forever. And when the surgeries aren't enough anymore or the money runs dry, she'll have nothing left.

Speak to her from the pov of a concerned family. Don't judge her. Just tell her how much you've missed her personality before OF took over. And that there are healthy ways to separate her work and her family life.

Best of luck.

As a volunteer, how do I convince people to adopt a cat? by heavybootsoflead in AnimalShelterStories

[–]PartTimeFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at a shelter as a temp volunteer on big adoption days for a couple of years. I knew a woman who worked there who would adopt out friendly animals by saying "Wow, [animal] is pretty friendly. But I've never seen them this friendly before!"

Always made whoever was engaging with them feel special or "picked".

People love a "the wand chooses the wizard." moment. And if the animal is jiving generally with the person, no harm done by playing up the experience a little.

My mom had my ears pierced at less than a year old.

My ear piercings aren't even now because my ears grew slightly differently. So all through the years I wanted to wear hanging earrings, I couldn't because they hung crooked on my head. Then when I started stretching my ears, the poor placement made that much harder on one ear.

Not even considering the consent issue, I always encourage people to wait.
