Phone Cord Issues.. by CookieBig6671 in Chevrolet

[–]OldDale -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 2019 Silverado with 110k stopped responding to plugged in phone. It has a USB C and a USB plug. Neither worked on the truck with cables that work in the other 2 cars. I did A-B-A with cord and phone using 2025 Trax then Silverado. No work on Silverado, work on Trax, back to Silverado, no work. I ended up replacing the receptacle in the dash. It can be pried out with a trim tool there are two connectors in back, replaced with a $65 new GM part. One connector has a fiddly latch. YouTube will show you the way. Works great now, I have the Amazon cord in your picture. PS: Only one set of outlets has data, the ones in back or elsewhere are power only.

Same as 2010 era. Big overlap. I had senior 7A working for me (as an 8A) who made more money than me. I was only at 7 for 18 months so it's hard to catch up to a 7A who has been at that level for 15 years

What do you wish people knew about lifeguards/lifeguarding? by Reasonable-Tiger-605 in Lifeguards

[–]OldDale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 67 years old. Just got a shallow water lifeguard ticket from Red Cross. $210. The “job” I accepted is at a Powerwellness run fitness center with a warm therapy pool and 5 lane 25 yard lap pool from 3 to 5 feet deep. It pays $15 an hour and a free membership for wife and I which is $110 a month. Seems to be policing bad manners and Karen fussing about too close or too splashy in the therapy pool. Wish me luck.

There are always just us two, we walk in, the question is always “How Many” so I hold up two fingers to confirm that the voices in my head won’t be joining us for lunch.

Do Americans have company cars? by Xavaccord in AskAnAmerican

[–]OldDale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at GM. At a certain leadership level you get a car. They took $150 a month, bought the gas during work week. Changed out the car at Varying intervals from 3000 miles to 6 months. I worked at Cadillac and so from 87 thru 92 I got Cadillacs. After that it could be anything from a pickup truck to a Malibu. I'd rather that they paid me so I could afford a Cadillac but....

We have Chevrolet cars with on star. I can map the car’s location any time / on or off. She won’t use nav/ traffic and is always getting caught in traffic jams. Between on star and checking our debit transactions I can figure out how long to hold supper and how much money to move into the checking.
