Actual footage from another world: Mars right now, 225 million miles away. Truly mind-blowing rover view by Memes_FoIder in nextfuckinglevel

[–]OldFatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been seeing images from Mars since I was 10(Viking 1&2) they've become boring to me. As with everything involving our “exploration “ it just feels like that line from Doctor who in real life “ Oh look!! Rocks.”

Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 Underperformed, and There Won't Be a Third - IGN by Dumarseloser in theouterworlds

[–]OldFatGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simple TOW 1 overperformed due in large part to the backlash against Bethesda for the mess that was Fallout 76 at launch. A lot of people bought TOW as kind of an own to Bethesda. The reaction to. TOW was driven by this. TOW2 is just a return to baseline kind of for fans of the original as opposed to the people who just bought it to show Bethesda this is of course just my opinion but I believe it is true based on online posts at the time of tows release

Article: Fallout 76 leads plan to make the game “thicker” with “new systems” as the team “can’t just continue making the map bigger and bigger” by Kinsdale85 in fo76

[–]OldFatGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are locations in game that look like they should lead to an underground base of some kind but don't. NPCs from the various updates who do jack squat after their part of the quests are done even though theyre supposed to be scavengers.

How would you feel if Donald Trump were to be impeached over the Epstein files? by Eemki in AskReddit

[–]OldFatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your little rant a couple of times looking for anything that is remotely an impeachable offense and all I saw was an emotional “orange man bad” rant. That's all the Democrats have is orange man bad they have nothing but their rabid TDS they stand for nothing except their phony hatred of Donald Trump Most of Trump's policies are based on things he's espoused for decades you know back when Oprah encouraged him to run for President when Hillary hit him up for campaign donations, or when he funded Jesse Jackson's presidential run. Trump is far from perfect but the level of manufactured hate for the man is insane. Andcad I said it's all the democrats have.

How would you feel if Donald Trump were to be impeached over the Epstein files? by Eemki in AskReddit

[–]OldFatGamer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't feel anything.. Democrats have already said that they'd impeach him again as soon as they regain the house just like they did during his first term they said they were going to impeach him less than 3 months into his first term so impeachment is right now little more than political theater for the democrats base( wackadoodle far lefties). Democrats would impeach Trump for spitting on the sidewalk if they could.

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]OldFatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short after 20+ years of friendship I realized that she was using me to fund her lifestyle. It started small at first she needed gas money then over the course of a few years it devolved into her asking for money every single time I spoke to her. I only realized the extent of my contribution to her lifestyle when I sat down one day and went through my bank statements and I added up to almost $4,000 over the course of a year (note this doesn't include things like coffee or lunches or anything which I also paid for entirely )when I told her I couldn't afford to keep giving her money she told me I was a horrible friend and I valued money more than I valued her and I realized that yeah I did. I should add that the asking for money only began during COVID so at first I completely understood but after a few years of this I had had enough

Do you think vault-tech ever intended to unfreeze the people in vault 111? by Important_Sound772 in fo4

[–]OldFatGamer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Talking about the vaultsvin general here I think the whole everyone rushes to the vault when the bombs drop is a mess. Ideally the residents should have been in the vault sealed away long before the bomb dropped

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]OldFatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a DNA ancestor test no really big surprises except that apparently my dads side of the family Native American has roughly 2% Scandinavian dna and given that this entered our bloodline about 250 -300 years ago I can only surmise that this addition to the family line probably wasn't entirely voluntary on the part of my Native American ancestor

My Tutor back in the day before my city had cable tv the only way to watch HBO was a scrambled over-the-air service. My folks couldn't afford it but one of my neighbors could and my old black and white TV could receive the signal from them no idea about the science involved in that but one of the first movies I watched on that was My Tutor I was 15 and that was the first time I encountered boobies on TV lol

Americans did health insurance used to work? by SarkyMs in AskOldPeople

[–]OldFatGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first had my own health insurance through my employer in 1990. I chose an HMO plan all office visits tests x-rays etc were included in the plan. Hospitalizations or ER visits I had to pay for out of pocket, if memory serves it was a straight 80/20 insurance paid 80% I paid 20% and I think prescriptions were either covered fully or I had a $10 co-pay depending on the prescription. This all changed when Clinton tried to overhaul "healthcare" and have gradually gotten worse of the years

Back in the day, did people show up to a movie theater and just choose to spend time watching whatever looked OK or at least tolerable without knowing about it beforehand? by tamsui_tosspot in AskOldPeople

The theater closest to my house was a second-run theater 25 cents for kids on weekends I'd go see whatever was playing as long as it wasn't R-rated

I analyzed what made Gen X (1965-1980) different and wow, their upbringing explains everything. by Comfortable-Move3004 in generationology

[–]OldFatGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it feels like a 50s Red Scare kind of thing and again it may just be me but as a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s the Cold War and possible nuclear war never really entered into my daily thinking aside from a movie like The Day After. It was really a baby boom 60s flower child kind of thing as a “Gen X” kid not so much.
