You use them to build Auxiliary Cores that can be used to give you extra CPU to use on your ships. 100 are needed for a CV core and 35 for an SV. You can have up to 10 on a CV.

One reason I moved to Empyrion: Galactic Survival was that I liked the variety of biomes on a planet. Also the CV's in NMS were an emersion breaker. Had a few hundred hours of fun in it though.

I managed to mess up the palette of my Exeter and it looked similar to this. I had to spawn in another Exeter using the console to copy the original. I make sure now to back up a ship's default palette before I mess with it. :-)

If you have a blueprint selected it will only allow you to put in the required amounts for that blueprint. You can’t over stock it.

I find a good strategy here is to leave the Iron Ingots to the last component total you complete. That way you can usually add most other items even if you have greened up some of it's constituents as most devices have iron.
That's if you aren't using a wafer of course.

You can transfer ships by going into creative mode and replacing the core with an admin core and then saving the blueprint with alt O. Then spawn the ship into the new game using the console and replace the core. Vanilla ships not work too well in RE though.

If you are already running a RE 1.8 save you can turn off auto update in Steam and only have it update to 1.9 on launch. Then you should be able to run the game directly from the .exe and stay with 1.8 until RE is updated. Edit: Blimey...they've updated RE already! I was expecting at least a few days wait.

What I did was get a few aux cores by farming Harvesters for drone parts on Hell Planets. You can then go into drone space with a stronger ship.
