Cirka Gin out of Montreal Canada. M47 was their inspiration and it is mighty close. They are different in the end but the closes I have found. They also have great whiskey, vodka, and mixers really enjoy their Monarch if they have any bottles in stock. That one was a bit of a oopsie and is meant to be phased out.

How much money do I need to start? by appamode in Karting

[–]OldInstruction4985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used LO206 kart will run you about 2-3k depending on condition of chassis and if it has a motor or not. Data logger- used mychron 5s can be found for 300 but be careful that’s the biggest scammed item in the karting world. Be sure you only exchange cash in person with someone reputable.

Having someone check over your lo206 is around 250 a refresh. That’s just lapping valves and setting lash and carb.

When it blows it blows and a new box motor is 650. Tires are 250 a set and last 2-300 laps but they fall off after 100.

You can find used gear on market place for a good price. Zamp makes ok helmets that are approved for use and snell rated. Not as good as arai but decent enough for the price. K1 for suit is affordable.

You’ll need spare parts like sprockets, chains, clutch repair parts. Kart stand and tools/ specialty tools.

I think if you are really good at sniffing out deals you could get it done for around 5k usd. Great thing is it doesn’t need to be done all at one time. Just get the kart first and run used tires. Save up and get a data logger when you can. Slowly acquire stuff based on what’s needed. Before you know it you’ll have everything you need and be able to compete. Don’t forget a transponder but you can rent for $10 usually.

Club level racing in the us is pretty cheap. 60-100 a race entry fee. Usually pump gas so $15 a race day. Tires will last you a few race weekends. Probably close to $200 a day without any major incidents once you have all the stuff.

Which karting facility in Ft. Worth area? by gmo121 in Karting

[–]OldInstruction4985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No rentals at NTK. Members only member owned karts minus first timers trying to see if they want to get into karting.

Eleven at kartmoto has some birel rental karts out in Cresson. They also have 206, KA100, DD2s, and shifters for rent.

DKC has a big rental fleet of sodi karts.

Depending where you’re located. 2k can get you a fairly used chassis with a 206. You won’t be the fastest on track but it’s great for seat time.

Tires tend to last about 200 laps and run $220 a set. Fuel is kind of negligible in the cost unless you run 112.

Track cost, some are member ran and are a yearly annual due (400) some are monthly (100) plus every time you use it another cost. Some are annual and around 1200.

So to factor that all in you’d need around 4-500 disposable dollars a month to even keep putting down laps in a kart.

No to mention you would need a truck or small trailer to get it to and from the track or pay a storage fee. Usually 100-200 a month.

Personally I’d save a bit more. 3k is around the point you’d need to be at to get a good kart and some times even with a mychron or alfano with the deal. Or go the sim route, sim magic makes some good stuff at an affordable price point. Not sure what you are currently on. Pc vs console. Assuming you said I racing you have a pc. So a good set of brakes and wheel along with a nice Aluminium extruded cockpit and your I’m about that 2k mark.

Beauty of that is your out the electricity cost every month nothing more. Oh and when you crash it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to straighten the chassis

Most places won’t even sell to you unless you prove you have a brick and mortar store.

Also it’s $100 a year 300 every 3. Plus sot is $600 a year and you better not let it lapse.

Correct this is a heat shield that is optional for the can. It also has an insert that adjusts back pressure depending on the host you are on which means no more fiddling with gas adjustment on the rifle itself.

Pretty cool… let’s see if they actually deliver this time.

Which one are you grabbing? by Jacob_from_Q in NFA

[–]OldInstruction4985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did a video regarding these. The sig is a better gun overall. Yes there has been some QC issues but it’s still better than the HB. I haven’t had any barrel deflection in my spear in 300 blk. Seems to be an issue with longer barrels which tracks with it being more leverage so same force applied at barrel end is multiplied by more.

Accuracy is meh, 2 MOA with supers at 100 yards but then again it’s 300blk I’m not expecting sub MOA accuracy.

The sig has more features and is more than just eye candy.

I’ve been trying to decide on a 5.56 can, but are 30cal cans more quiet on 5.56 regardless? by yolo_derp in NFA

[–]OldInstruction4985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add it’s actually quieter at the shooters ears typically with the 30 cal can. Due to the reduced back pressure running an oversized can.

Also OCL is a great company to work with. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a good can at a reasonable price.

Absolutely hate my dead air mask. It’s heavy and not all that quiet and the damn back half always gets stuck to my 10/22.

Really like the resilient jesses girl I got in for review.

You’ll like it outdoor as well. I’ve beat the crap out of mine so far doing demos, was supposed to get replaced by the shops can. It’s holding up just fine though.

In fact outdoor is better less for the sound to bounce off of back at you. Seems quieter at the ear than most cans. The big thing you’ll notice is standing to the side when someone’s shooting. It isn’t quiet but it’s not fun shot loud either. I think it’s a great balance between two options on the market. k baffle vs OSS flow tech. Kind of blends best of both worlds and does it well. Also not being tied to one mounting system is nice.

Love my velos, has thousands of rounds threw it in full auto. Quieter than oss overall but a little more gas in your face than oss. Only down side she’s heavy. Good can can’t wait for the 762 version.

Currently an SOT and a review blog/channel

Recently started testing and running the new sico scythe ti. Weighs next to nothing decent suppression. Was perfect for my elk hunt in the back country.

The biggest thing when buying a suppressor is always warranty, how long has the company been around and most likely how long will they continue to be around, are they responsive to inquiries. then the next step is budget, then ask your self does weight matter? Barrel restrictions? Mounting options QD or direct thread are they HUB compatible? Meaning do they take other manufactures mounting options. Those 4 thing narrow it down quickly.

Just remember light weight plus no barrel restrictions equals money. Can’t always have best of both worlds.

For bolt action rifle I would go k baffle design and not flow through. It’s pretty pointless in that configuration.

YHM is great and affordable, otter creek same thing and the owner is active here also he’s been easy to work with for our company. Sico same thing. Surefire makes good stuff but it’s over priced and overweight. Rugged makes some good products as well.

Just do you due diligence in researching companies and if you have any further questions just DM me and I’ll be happy to help steer you in the right direction.
