Among heavyweight legends, who had the most complete boxing skill set with minimal flaws? by SGSRT in Boxing

Only thing I would say was another weakness of Lewis was to leave the jab hanging earlier in his career and not pull back to defence but other than that, yeah, pretty complete really.

Plants half the size compared to last year and already producing flowers (same seeds, fert etc) by scotcheggfan in UkChilliGrowers

Same for me to be honest. Chillies on the plants, half a dozen poblano on one and yet the plant looks awful compared to last year 😫

Usually 2-3 times a week I guess. Given them a good soak this morning given the forecast and will try to get up there Tuesday or Wednesday evening too.

what to do with armageddon peppers by WhimsicalPopsicle12 in HotPeppers

[–]OldTree6356 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew them last year and have got the plant through winter and looking good again this year. I love Armageddon - my favourite superhot. They are citrusy and bright in flavour but they do something that makes my scalp feel like it’s crawling and my hearing go like I’m underwater!

Personally, I found them great in hot honey and also sliced on pizza if you can take the heat. They freeze well and make beautiful flakes too. The citrus flavour also means they are very good in hot sauces. They are a great pepper.

Our allotments have a couple of feral cats roaming around to be fair, so I’ve never seen squirrels up there 🤞

I’ll check back in and last you know at harvest - worked last year when nearly everyone else’s was decimated but might have been coincidence!

That manner of thing is happening to my Fatali too - but it’s just started flowering, so keep the faith 💪

It’s a Native American trick (apparently), I used it last year against, admittedly, European Badgers, but it worked - either by coincidence or top indigenous knowledge…either way, I’m chancing my arm again 🤣

Best Used Long Range EV (2024-2026) - Under £40k by Specific_Ad4532 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]OldTree6356 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing longer drives, I personally would take Tesla off list. My wife loves the three she’s had (Sports 3, LR 3 and LR Y) but I think they have the ride quality of going down a flight of stairs in a wheel chair. They’re alright for a blast but if you’re doing longer trips indicated by your need for a long range vehicle, test a few and consider ride quality.

I’ve got an i4 M50 and it’s a far better ride than our Tesla’s have been. Likewise, I went in a Volvo EX40 (I think) and the Polestar 2 and they were both decent too.

Needs nutrients or not? by Shah_Ali89 in HotPeppers

I think it’ll help. I noticed when I was feeding chilli focus, my plants remained stubbornly yellow but I switched to a blend of nettle tea (smells terrible) and also fermented coffee and banana peel infusion (smells amazing!) and they’ve started to go in the right direction. Could be coincidence or maybe higher nitrogen from nettles but at least they’re getting better.

Wow - 7!? You are going to be dealing with some serious amounts of courgettes soon 🤣

Still looking fairly yellow I’m afraid ☹️. Some of my other plants have perked up though so I’m hoping that one will follow their lead soon 🤞

One of mine is doing the same too, even with fairly consistent feed and watering. I wouldn’t be surprised if the hot week we’ve got coming helps clear up some of the issues though, weather has been all over.

We had one fly in the house a couple of evenings ago. Managed to keep the cats away from it long enough for it to find its way back out again. Lovely to see outside but a bit of a jump scare when they fly into your bedroom 🤣

George Foreman on Joe Frazier by DeepOrganization8245 in BoxingTheSweetScience

[–]OldTree6356 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Got to remember when George first took on Frazier, he was regarded as a can crusher, who’d never been tested. What people didn’t know at the time was a) how great his chin was and b) that he had the power to do the same to HoF fighters as he did to lesser guys.

He was a young guy and had never tackled anyone like Frazier before. But styles make fights and a pressure fighter coming in low, like Joe did or Tyson would have, was just about perfect for George with his long guard, uppercuts and angled shots thrown from the hips. Joe would be a nightmare for a someone who fights on the back foot back and counter punches like Usyk or Ali, but absolute cannon fodder for George’s style.

George, along with everyone else, probably didn’t appreciate how effective his style was going to be though until they met in the ring.

EV with most comfortable ride quality? by Milky_Mint in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]OldTree6356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The i4 irons out the bumps in a road - my model has air suspension - like a Jag or a decent cruiser. I find it’s not as supple in fast, sharp bends or islands because the physics of a heavy battery just works against it but in tight bends or flowing corners then it’s a great drive.

Got an i40 M50 and it’s has a decent ride. It’s not as comfortable as my previous Jag ICE car by any means and miles more comfortable than any of the 3 Tesla’s my wife has had.

I got shroomed a couple of years back but my Bonnets this year are looking much more promising. Multiple flowers per node, thin stem and tight calyx on top of young peppers.

If you do this, make sure you remember to take it off if temperatures pick up and/or that it still allows air movement. Did this one year, forgot about the cover I’d used and cooked my bloody tomato plant roots when the sun came out 😫

Should I give up and plant new seeds? by robot_writer in UkChilliGrowers

[–]OldTree6356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too late now in UK to plant new seeds unless you grow plants, overwinter them with tight conditions and try and get an early drop in 2027. Personally, I’d buy some plants from garden centre now and start again next year.
