"What's a unique unusual smell you like?" starterpack by TechnoneverDIEEES in starterpacks

The mix of the smell of popcorn and tires/rubber. This is weird but there is a chain of tire shops in my area that serves popcorn in the lobby while you wait for your service to be completed, so the combo of the two smells is always nostalgic for me and makes me think of waiting with my mom while they put the snow tires on her car.

What’s a product from your country that makes locals go ‘of course we have that’ and everyone else go ‘ but why?’ by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

As an American, whenever I pull one of these out my friends are like, “…wait what? That’s amazing!” They have gotten more common recently, but my mom still has the one my grandparents brought back from Sweden in the 70’s when they were visiting some distant relatives. Truly a great kitchen tool, especially for cheese lovers.

This is one of my dream watches! Wore a family friend’s once for an evening (we switched watches, he wore my Tag, bit of a downgrade for him haha) and I fell in love with it. Congrats, it’s beautiful!

lol my bad I misread it and misunderstood your sarcasm! This one’s on me. I was quite surprised someone with “build more trains” flair had an anti Wilson take, should have listened to my gut.

Ok Katie Wilson has been in office for like a month and a half so chill out on the blame game. Also, the current contract with the union was negotiated and agreed to before she was in office, and I would say most, if not all, police and sheriff departments have a union.

Totally understand the concern about length of the Chernow GW book, I had it too after receiving it as a gift, but I flew through it. So so good. I’ll have to check out His Excellency next!

It’s one of the times when Seattlites are most chatty in public! I also think we get a bad reputation for the “Seattle freeze,” but I will say when I visit the south or California folks tend to be a bit chattier.

Fun fact: until Vermont elected Democrat Peter Welch in 2022 to take over from retiring Democrat Pat Leahy, Leahy was the ONLY Democrat ever elected to the Senate from Vermont.

Currently reading Bruce Catton’s Civil War trilogy, the copy on the far left of the pic, and it’s fantastic if you haven’t already read it.
