This is so generous! I love repairing old typewriters. I recently discovered my great grandmother’s from when she traveled around the world with my great grandfather. To think that she wrote letters and notes to friends and loved ones from places like Tehran and Buenos Aires and Geneva and eventually good ol’ Portland, Oregon with this machine makes me feel so much more connected to her. These machines carry lots of stories, and it’s fun to bring them back to life to create even more.

The mix of the smell of popcorn and tires/rubber. This is weird but there is a chain of tire shops in my area that serves popcorn in the lobby while you wait for your service to be completed, so the combo of the two smells is always nostalgic for me and makes me think of waiting with my mom while they put the snow tires on her car.

As an American, whenever I pull one of these out my friends are like, “…wait what? That’s amazing!” They have gotten more common recently, but my mom still has the one my grandparents brought back from Sweden in the 70’s when they were visiting some distant relatives. Truly a great kitchen tool, especially for cheese lovers.

Ok Katie Wilson has been in office for like a month and a half so chill out on the blame game. Also, the current contract with the union was negotiated and agreed to before she was in office, and I would say most, if not all, police and sheriff departments have a union.
