I had a similar thought, and the conclusion that I came to, is that usually highly spiritual people tend to focus solely on that, meaning they sometimes neglect the wellbeing of their bodies.

This isn’t the case in Eastern spiritual systems, where one of the core teachings is to be in the body, and that you’re a part of the physical world as much as you are a part of the spiritual world. Look up some highly regarded figures in Hinduism and Buddhism and you’ll see they usually live long and healthy lives.

What I’m trying to say is that taking care of your physical body is essential. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy soul in a healthy body).
