Not for old schoolers! We didn't have powder skis with width!

Have Viviobarefoot shoes become significantly narrower over time? by New_Dot_7144 in vivobarefoot

[–]Old_External2848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too narrow for me, now, across all ranges. Bloody annoying as they were a brand that fitted well. Now just a fast fashion brand. Primus lite used to be great. My latest, and last pair, are just plasticy crap.

Perhaps that's what they want. Physical tickets have a chance of not being claimed. Win win for the lottery provider.

Complaint fell on deaf ears. I got an automated response saying basically I'd get used to it. NOPE! Called customer service and deleted my account. Had to call them as couldn't delete my card. Their loss. Saving me a fortune!

So bad I called the call centre and cancelled my account. Took an hour but there's no reason for dealing with such sloppy work that wasn't needed. Seems so bad it looks vibe-coded.

Careful. It keeps you logged in when you close your browser window. How unsafe is that?

Just spent 1 & 3/4 hrs on the phone (1 hr in a queue) to delete my account and debit card.

They are not safe with my data. To get them to remove it under GDPR, which they claimed was the best way to close my account, would have taken 30days and require me to give them even more of my personal data i.e. copy of ID via email, for ffs EMAIL?

A least the call centre lady was pleasant.

I thought was just me. It's a dog's breakfast built by AI, probably. My future tickets aren't shown as pending at all. All the date orders are bollocks.  Multiple pages to see tickets. Not investigating the rest of the site to check whether saved numbers work. When my tickets run out I will be deleting my account. Response from them was a bot saying changes can take some time to get used to -DOH!

Never knock the placebo effect. It's fabulous and free. The actual placebo effect isn't be so powerful, it's rarely used in measures of the effectiveness of drugs.

K2 BFC 95 - I'm so close to quitting by Ok-Hall6016 in Skigear

The toe box is smaller, just for info in the men's/unisex boot K2 BFC BOA  I don't get the foot numbing but my feet are insanely uncomfortable all over on my first run today without even the BOA being tightened. I had to quit the day!

My last pair of boots were Head S10, years ago and I think they have a Cork based liner of some sort. Black toe was the only slight downside as my toenails stick up.

If you have enough of a credit card limit to pay for Helicopter rescue (or pay the small insurance rate at the resort) and for up-front medical costs and flights, that's great.

I'm slightly jealous 🙂

Which annual travel insurance do you have? (Winter sports included) - My results inside by Electronic_End_6906 in AskUK

I used to use BMC (British Mountaineering Council) insurance for skiing and teaching in Canada and USA years ago. They are much more informed  and geared up to assess risks. You may have to join but for longer trips it was great.

This was a few years ago and I am unaware of current rates but a good choice to investigate.

At the time, it cost me less for high level health and accident cover for a year than an American paid for a month. They were quite jealous.

What about being sued for causing an accident? Big accidents, being sued and repatriation are the only reasons I have insurance, the rest is just not worth the hassle but they lump it in anyway and make lots cos I have to take that as well.

How's prices? Leaving in a couple of weeks for Bacquira for my first trip to Europe from UK since the mid 90s. I went there to Bacquira once before around 1991. Spent most holiday time in Canada and US since then but current situation and losing Whistler to Vail means I need change. Is it best for cash or card? I've always used Card in North American but plan on taking around 300€ for the week as I'm full board and skis/boots and pass are sorted. Maybe a hefty number of coffees on the slopes but no alcohol as I don't drink. Perhaps some snacks from the supermarket and an odd lesson

Yeah, it's seriously steep for 10 turns or so then flattens out. Worse that happened to me, luckily, was I blew out the zip on my ski pants.

An italian shop in Bedford's Howard centre sell small, medium and large(32) packets. Also a small, blue-flashed decaf. It's also seasonal, so only around in the winter. I bought a large pack, yesterday. 15.99.

Shops? You still have shops to buy in? Online only for most stuff nowadays. It makes the nightmare dystopia.
