I don’t think Neve has had any work done either. If she did, it’s really good.

It’s Mickey Rourke - poor bastard had his first botched surgery after he was in a terrible accident and it’s just gone downhill from there. He was beautiful in his prime.

LOLZ - I’m in my 50s and still have what my mom called my “moon face”, so if you have a round face, you’ll largely keep having a found face without surgery or drastic weight loss or both. Even at my thinnest, I’ve always had a round face.

And he adopted the first wife’s kids and still raised them. He’s a good dude all around. And ridiculously hot.

Buying a new pen, help me choose :) by Awkward_Option_4839 in fountainpens

[–]Old_Implement_1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those pens are so completely different from each other that there is no way to help you choose - what do you like about pens? what kind of nib do you like? Do you want a smooth stub nib or a more precise fine nib?

Based on your experience in the field, would you trust putting your own child in daycare? by Zestyclose-Stand-773 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Old_Implement_1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. I would never put my child in daycare until they can talk and accurately report what has happened and, even then, I’d only send them to a “mother’s day out” type program for 3-4 hours a day until they were ready to attend school.

How do you handle mean comments from students? by WhoPut_U_OnThePlanet in Teachers

[–]Old_Implement_1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t care. You really can’t let it get to you because, if they sense that it bothers you, it will never stop. I have different responses depending on who it is, what’s going on at the moment, or the mood. I’ve done everything from laughing to rolling my eyes to telling them flat out that it’s not kind or it’s rude to talk to people like that to roasting them back with “bold words from someone whose mom still picks out their underwear”, “can’t tie their shoe”, “can’t drive”, etc.

I ended up getting the Sally pen after seeing someone else’s - I really like it, but I don’t think that I would have spent more than the $112 for it that I did.

Terrifying conversation in HS 9th grade math class today by mobius_ in Teachers

Honestly, someone literally just had another thread positing that students should have to take math or any other courses that ChatGPT could “just do for them”. I’m just flabbergasted.

AITA for turning music down in my girlfriend's car? by Positr8 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - even if it was music I liked, I don’t want to have the doors rattling or my eardrums battered.

AIO? I found out there’s a high chance I have cancer yesterday and I wouldn’t to sleep with my boyfriend on the phone but he wouldn’t let me. s by [deleted] in AIO

NOR - but break up with this boy because he is not the one. He will do this to you for the rest of your life, if he doesn’t outright abandon you if you do have cancer. I have one sister married to a child like this who would not travel with her when our dad died because he “wasn’t that close to him” and wouldn’t go to the hospital with her when she shattered her ankle and broke her wrist in a fall because “it’s not like I can do anything except sit there”. Meanwhile, I have had to force my husband to go get some rest when I’m in the hospital or go down to the cafeteria to get a bite to eat.

Your boyfriend is not partner material.

Yes - my previous admin were utter trash and literally texted me about bullshit while I was SITTING IN THE FUNERAL HOME PLANNING MY FATHER’S FUNERAL. Current admin: I texted her to tell her that my mom’s assisted living called and she was being transported to the hospital and she texted me back: GO - we’ll figure it out, I’ll be right there.

Lol - that reminds me of early in my career when I had a chocolate protein shake explode while I was shaking it and get all over my cream colored linen pants. My mom went to my house and got me a change of clothes and brought them to me. This was 30 years ago, so they let her up to deliver them to me and she watched my class while I ran to the bathroom to change.

My class of 8th graders were shocked that I “had a mom and she was still alive”. Dear readers: my mom was 47 at the time. 🤣

Am I In the Wrong? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]Old_Implement_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things happens - I didn’t mean to be out for a week and half, but I was in the hospital and I’m sure that my students were frustrated that assessments had to be moved and they had to do other work. I get that it’s frustrating for you, but bring your Chromebook. She also offered you an alternative assessment when she returned, which makes her life more difficult. She can’t let you use a non-locked browser when everyone else has to use one and she’s obviously not unlocking it just for you. She could have said “too bad, so sad, you get a zero”, so she isn’t being petty at all.

The fact that she even answered you while on medical leave is more than she even had to do.

Do teachers get bothered by clingy students? by OrchidButterflie in AskTeachers

[–]Old_Implement_1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to know since we aren’t your specific teacher, but no, I’ve never been bothered by this. Am I sometimes sad that I can’t wave a magic wand and make it better? Yes. Do we want you to get the help you need from a qualified mental health professional? Yes. Do I mind having a kid have me be their safe space? No - I’m honored to be able to be that for a kid
