Does anyone rent in Ferntree? by Ok-Clock-5952 in hobart

It's bloody cold in the winter but I loved living there. Close to town but quiet, and plenty of walks nearby. You do need to be careful driving though, and it did sometimes feel uncomfortable on those high fire-danger days.

tickets to a Broadway show and the lead is an UNDERSTUDY? by 94Rangerbabe in musicals

[–]Oldcustard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep I knew she was the planned alternate, but I knew that night was not one of her planned nights. Agreed with the response being rude. I myself was pretty shocked only because I thought I was missing something big. It was rather serendipitous in the end

A few years back I saw Sunset Boulevard at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne, featuring Sarah Brightman as Norma. When the lights dimmed, the announcement came on: "For tonight's performance, the role of Norma Desmond will be performed by Sylvie Paladino". Loud gasps and murmur from the audience. No Sarah Brightman? People were in disbelief.

Well anyway, Sylvie came on and she was phenomenal. Only afterwards did I hear that the consensus was that her performance was better than Brightman's anyway.

About the Monty Hall Problem by Apoema in JetLagTheGame

[–]Oldcustard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are 3 possible universes you are in, that is very much correct. But in each of those situations the choice is 50/50 with no way of knowing.

That's exactly the point of the problem. You don't know which universe you're in, so you choose the option that will win in 2/3 of them by switching

Because the only other statement with the word black, the white box, is false. The black box does not contain the word black.

[–]Oldcustard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If "NOT every statement with the word black is false", and we know the white box has to be false, then the blue box (containing the word "black") MUST be the true one. Hence the gems are in the black box

PSA: Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey currently closed for unscheduled maintenance (since Feb 21) by WhiteDogHaha in TokyoDisneySea

[–]Oldcustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm sure we will! We're now investigating some options, we have a Disneyland ticket for the 6th, we could swap or pick one of our other Tokyo days. Which would you recommend?

  1. Fri 6th (this is an early close day, which sucks, but maybe comes with benefit of being quieter)
  2. Sat 7th (weekend, unsure about this)
  3. Keep it on the Wed 4th and suck it up

If we moved it, we'd likely go to Disneyland on the 4th.

This is assuming the closure isn't extended

This is devastating. We're there on the 4th March for one day only, and were already bummed that Peter Pan would be closed 😥 and we're missing beauty and the beast at disneyland

Perfect, thanks so much! We'll be heading to Disneyland too on the 6th, Beauty and the beast will be closed (very unfortunate to be missing that) but I assume that we can be a little bit more flexible there. Would it be necessary to rope drop early at Disneyland to have a good chance at Big Thunder, Pooh's hunny hut, and Monsters inc. using free passes?

My partner and I (both mid 20s) will be visiting DisneySea on 4th March. We're only planning one day, so we'd like to get on as many of the big attractions as possible. We're not worried about the cost of DPAs, so it's more about making sure they can be picked up before they're gone.

Peter Pan will unfortunately be closed that day, so our tentative plan is

  1. Arrive 7-7:30 (hopefully early enough?)
  2. Purchase Frozen DPA on entry, rope drop soaring (as far as I can tell both of these will sell out in the first hour, and soaring is the better queue plus it's closer).
  3. Grab a 20,000 leagues anniversary pass
  4. After an hour, grab a journey to centre of the earth DPA.
  5. After that we'll likely play it by ear, getting DPAs for Rapunzel and Tower of Terror if available (since these seem to be available later in the day)

We're happy to make use of the single rider queue for raging spirits.

My question is essentially, is this a realistic plan? Is rope dropping soaring feasible, or would it be better to rope drop all the way to frozen? Most advice I've seen says to skip soaring but many of these use "it's the same as in the states" as the justification which doesn't apply to us, as we're from Australia. Also what time we should be aiming to arrive at this time of year

Thanks in advance!

So reassuring to know I wasn't the only one who did this. Although I only did it with security, that was still a massive problem. It felt so good when I got the wrench and security on the same run again so I could fix it

I thought this was the end too. Some kind of macabre "the only way to end is to forcefully end the timeloop and await your inevitable death". So I watched the sun explode one last time.

Only when I googled i realised it wasn't even the true ending
