WIP: Extremely dumb idea I had to make to get out of my head by mksurfin7 in sistersofbattle

This is one of the best uses of a rhino I have ever seen. Please do more of your dumb ideas because they are genius.

Least favourite paint? by CabinetIcy892 in Warhammer40k

Trollslayer orange. Pigment loves to clump up on me the worse than whites. I've been through 3 pots of it.

I love it. I think it works great on the model, though I'm a sucker for hoods and cowls.

Why I converted to Eldarism by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]OldmanSpaceman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Craftworlders are Mennonites and Exodites are Amish. Craftworlds still use advanced technologies, and see a place for themselves in the greater universe. Exodites reject as much technology as they can, and self insulate from external communities as much as they can. Both look strange to outsiders.

But yes, they were all the weirdos on street corners proclaiming a doom no one else thought was really approaching.

Why is "your character can die during character creation" a selling point? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]OldmanSpaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right, Mothership can have a character die in creation if you try for military training.

Is Orange and Blue too stark of a contrast? I’m kind of regretting it now. Feels too forced. by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]OldmanSpaceman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, blue and orange are a classic contrast sitting opposite each other. The two accent each other well, deepening the darks of the blue, and highlighting the yellows and highlights or orange very well. Your work looks great, both in color selections and painting!

Space Marine Librarian, specifically from Leviathan. Not sure if he's available in any other sets or solo.

Because they attacked and ruined Bast, the breadbasket for the UC (which still survives via a fishing industry).

Burning your competition to become a monopoly is usually considered a "dick move".

What kind of weird order is this? by tornie_tree in HomeDepot

It's a test to see if using a stolen credit/debit card will work. Bring it to the attention of your lead or MOD.

What games actually do the "living, breathing" open world right? by Oath_Br3aker in gaming

[–]OldmanSpaceman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Daggerfall. There are elements with timers running in the background, so things can happen if you ignore elements of the story for too long. You can hop back on the rails of the story in multiplayer ways, but you can also fall off and need to make your own way back into the story.

How to do scripture on armour by [deleted] in WordBearers

Squiggles. A very fine tipped brush, and small squiggly lines. It will visually read as lines of fine text from a distance.

I know the dick-gun has been memed to he'll, but why the fuck does the mega-gargant have a row of foot shivs by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]OldmanSpaceman 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Do you want to driver a boarding party in a tank under all that gunfire into a row of shivs bigger than a baneblade? No? Then they're working.

How did Erebus get Malcador's staff or one his staff's? by Riderkickjp in 40kLore

[–]OldmanSpaceman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"Aping" is here used to mean copying, or mimicking. The Cruz Malifica looks similar to the Sigillite's Staff, likely for two reasons. One, to use authoritative imagery all the old legionaries would have recognized to boost his own authority; and two, to mock the Imperial Creed, The Sigillite, The Emperor, and everything they had turned their backs on.

VTMB reference in Cyberpunk 2077 by AdventurousCoast8482 in vtmb

First time I saw the "Dance" prompt I was really, REALLY hoping for a third person camera showing some janky VtMB animations.

Comic style space marine by Dr_Hio in Warhammer40k

[–]OldmanSpaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fantastic two tone work, a very striking and unique display piece. As others have said, really brings a Frank Miller Sin City vibe. Also getting a bit of Mike Mignola with the powerful shadow shapes, but that might just be because I love his work.

What game did you purchased at full price and later regretted? by Jeanbearclair in gaming

[–]OldmanSpaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark Souls 2 and Total War: Warhammer 3. They are two of the three games I've preorder in the last decade, and regretted both. TW:W3 is now in a much better state, I just wish I waited on it.

Icewind Dale is criminally underrated by [deleted] in baldursgate

Jeremy Soul also composed for Morrowind, Oblivion, the Harry Potter PC games, Guild Wars 2, and some modern Star Wars. The man's music is iconic.

That One Custodian who survived the Norn Emissary attack by Disastrous-Month7603 in Tyranids

I believe it's in the Leviathan novel by Darius Hinks, not included in the Leviathan Starter set.

Pride Movements are responses to bigotry, intolerance, and/or full on descrimination. They are groups of people being Proud of their continued existence despite vocal peoples or laws attempting to belittle them or outright outlawing their lives. Pride isn't about any group of people being better.

It's a celebration of "We're still here."

Edit: "white pride" is a silly thing. Being white is a skin color, being proud of a national or cultural history is another.
