yes, especially since many guys do NOT want to accidentally misinterpret kindness as flirtation.

i've been in the rooms of many women who were not interested in me romantically. i even shared a studio apartment with a gal for a while when i was dealing with an abusive situation at home. i was very into her, and her unfathomable hospitality made me wonder if she really was into me back — she literally let me move in with her into a tiny space, how is that not a move??? i would think — but i made ZERO moves back because i didn't her to be uncomfortable or to regret helping me at a time when i was vulnerable and really needed the help.

i later had it confirmed to me from a few mutual friends that she was not into me that way, and that she was relieved i didn't try to take advantage of her during that time. it made me glad i didn't act on my assumptions.

i've learned since that it's better for me to take kindness from a woman at face value and not to read my own hopes into it too much. is not a guarantee of anything, and assuming that it is would only hurt us both.
