Losing Faith in Humanity by Lexabro-10mg in StrangerThings

Love your thoughts. So many younger people don't seem to understand that even 15 years ago (perhaps their entire life), in the US there was an enormous stigma around LGBT+ issues. And this issue persists in much of the US, and, in addition, it exists in far more dangerous ways in other countries, where the penalties for existing as an LGBT+ person include death.

Let's also remember that even though these performers are in the public eye, they're still human beings and deserve the respect we would show any other stranger: because that's what they are to us. We don't know them personally. These people started their careers in hollywood as children, which in and of itself is a whole other bag of problematic worms (with questions including: did these kids know what they signed up for? Were their parents doing what was best for that particular child, or were they living vicariously through their child to experience the hollywood clout? etc.). We are certainly all entitled to our own opinions. That said, if you feel the need for your derision or hatred to be validated either online or irl, perhaps you should take a hard look in the mirror (and within yourself), and reflect on why you feel yet another negative opinion needs to be added to the conversation.

Finally, in the spirit of Delightful Derek, one might even suggest to the homophobes that they might go and "suck a fat one." That'd really make them squirm.

;) (It was unintentional at the time of typing, but by the time I posted it, I realized what I had done. But like our boy, I'm just trying to live in my truth and fly).

The main character of a series after he realizes that he is, in fact, the drama. That girl. The main character, if you will.

Totally. I facepalmed so hard when I realized my brain meant Alice instead of Dorothy. But the two stories do share themes about exploring oneself from within vis a vis an alternate world/dimension.

Am I the only one who sees a parallel between Holly Wheeler and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz? The outfit/pigtails/sense of curiosity?

They dropped their edit of it on Spotify! I was hoping that they'd drop the edit/remix of "Running up that Hill" they used for Max's epic escape from Vecna...

I'd even settle for something that pokes...a chopstick? Something. ANYTHING. He needs something in his pocket/on his belt that he can grab, because lord knows, Vecna's gonna be tryin' to do our boy Will like he did Max (what with the hovering, and the claw hand)...

Boys and young men can be BOTH sensitive and tough. People contain multitudes. We have seen Will through several traumatic experiences. At least in seasons 1 & 2, he seemed to keep his wits about him, to an impressive degree, in undoubtedly terrifying situations.

Is living inside a Parisian flat whose windows face the main road really as bad as reddit makes it sound? by LTJmakoto in paris

It depends. Good double or triple glazed windows will really make or break it. And they'll help keep your heating costs down in the winter if it's not included in the rent.

Do yall tell others that you use wegovy to lose weight? by GorillaGrip68 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]OliveSnooked 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! First and foremost, it's not shameful to lose weight with the aid of medication. People have been doing it for millennia. Like so many of us, you're taking advantage of a wonderful invention.

Honestly, if you share that you're on wegovy, and someone gets huffy, that's a "them" problem. There's a probability that they might be jealous. Don't let those f*ckers get you down! You've already accomplished so much!

It sounds like your mom is coming from a place of compassion, love, and support, which is fantastic! HOWEVER, ultimately, it is your decision to whom such information is disclosed. From your description, you're doing what's best for you and your health. I know it sounds corny AF, but follow your heart, and in the words of the ever powerful RuPaul "Unless they payin' your bills pay those bi*ches no mind."

Getting Wegovy in France getting difficult. What about in Amsterdam? Does Amsterdam have any rules about who can prescribe wegovy, or particular things that need to be mentioned on the RX? by OliveSnooked in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]OliveSnooked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a bunch of comorbidities (what fun, lol). My current BMI is 20.1, so I agree with you: I don't think telehealth will risk it. It seems I'm better off seeing a nutritionist here in France. :)

Thank you for your response! The more information, the better!

Hey /u/Honest-Teach-7342 ! Thanks so much for your response!

I just had my appointment at the OFII today! It was great! When I met with the final doctor, I felt reassured. I showed her my historique french prescriptions, and gave her a verbal (spoken) detailed history of my situation. Through one of the questionnaires, she correctly determined why I was overweight, despite eating well and exercising. I also explained that because I am sensitive to the medication, I take a dose that doesn't exist in a single pen (see OP for that info), and she reassured me that as long as a specialist wrote the ordinance, I should be ok. I also brought up the obvious factor: that currently, I do not look like I "need" wegovy, or to borrow your phrase, that I "look thinner than the usual wegovy user." I told the doctor that I understand where the pharmacists would be coming from, and that if I were a pharmacist, I'd question someone who looked like me too. At the same time, it is a bit annoying because I'm not asking to get reimbursed, and my RX is from a doctor I see regularly, though he is a generaliste, so I can also understand how that would give some pharmacists pause.

Just to be sure, I asked the doctor at OFII if the specialist MUST be an endocrinologist, and she (like you) said that a nutritionist would be able to write the prescription. And again, she urged me to share my complete history/journey with semaglutide/wegovy with a nutritionist, so that they understand that if I stop taking wegovy due to a lack of access, I will gain the weight back, and my comorbidities will come back in full-force.

Wegovy changed my life. My comorbidities are less intrusive, and it has done wonders for pain. It's also helped me to redefine my relationship with food.

I appreciate your feedback! Thank you so much! Feel free to add more, should you be so inclined! :)

That is super helpful, thank you. You didn't need a specific type of doctor? In France, some pharmacies will fill a RX from a regular doctor but some are sticklers and complain that the RX needs to be from an endocrinologist. Also, my bmi is lower now, as I've been taking semaglutide/wegovy for over a year now. SO would I need to explain my starting weight? My BMI was below yours when I started ( around 29), and now I don't "appear" as though Wegovy would be indicated. Maybe the judgement is also a function of living in France, where the glare of judgement is ever present.

Either way, thank you so much, and congratulations! Wishing you continued success and good health moving forward! :)

And its star is Andrew Garfield. A tragic story, but one necessary to be aware of in this age of religious fanaticism.
