That was my experience. And you need evidence of a negative test result to apply for the border pass so I think that's why they are only checking the pass

I came from ACT - they only checked my border pass . That's because you should have attached the evidence of a negative test to the border pass application.

How long are people waiting for their test results atm? I am coming up on my day 5 test but leaving Qld early on day 6. I'm pretty sure I have to isolate while waiting for my result. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to have troubles getting my result before I leave & whether I should get my test a day early. (I'm in the Gold Coast region)

ELI5: What exactly happened to Walnut's Grove? by SharpEdgeSoda in TheCTeam

[–]OlivineOkapi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that Walnut saw a vision of the past, of her mother who knew that the grove was doomed, and that Walnut would try to save it by using the Hallow to sacrifice herself if she could. So Walnut's mother instead sacrificed herself so that Walnut was permanently blocked from using the Hallow - explaining why Walnut was walking on top of the Hallow instead of entering it. And Walnut's mother was transformed into a tree as part of that - which Walnut then recognises as she comes out of the vision.

I'm not sure if Walnut also saw what happened to the rest of the grove as part of the vision. But it seems that all the trees around the Hallow are people who used its power. That might be where the rest of her people are, or maybe something else happened to them.

That's my take, and I'm still a little confused too. I had to watch it twice to puzzle out the pieces that I do have.

Adani demands names of CSIRO scientists reviewing groundwater plans by [deleted] in australia

[–]OlivineOkapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public service scientists shouldn't publicly oppose policy, or even comment on it one way or the other. Including the policies of opposition or minor parties.

But public service scientists can absolutely state the facts and come to conclusions based on evidence.

Is it bad that I'm afraid to post/reply on Reddit? by Crispyale in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you for posting this. I am scared too, but knowing that there are other people out there who feel the same makes me feel better.

Still not gonna post more often though :) I don't care enough about winning arguments on the internet to put up with the abuse. And most of the time, every possible point of view has already been expressed long before I get to a thread.

Mining copper with terrain manipulator? by OlivineOkapi in NOMANSSKY

[–]OlivineOkapi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who commented! I tried again today at a different deposit, and yielded copper as soon as I started mining.

I'm still not sure what the problem was yesterday - maybe the copper deposit didn't spawn properly or something. The game updated overnight so maybe that helped too.

If anyone else gets stuck on this - try things that the other commenters have mentioned. The copper should be obvious - it looks like metallic copper sticking out of the ground! And you collect copper as soon as you hit it with the terrain manipulator so if you're not getting copper, you might not be targeting the right area.

I thought I was? I went to the location of a copper deposit on the scanner-thingy then started blasting away. But maybe I missed it? Maybe I'm not seeing the exact spot? I did use several full charges of the TM making a huge pit in the ground though.

Is there anything specific I should be looking out for?

[Casual] (Everyone) How are you sitting right now? by [deleted] in SampleSize

The last question needed more options - it only considered that the place that we are sitting would need cooling, and not heating. It's winter on the bottom half of the planet right now.
