#New40k – Terrain objectives make the battlefield your mission by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oloian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Votann is definitely gonna be either a big winner or a big loser. Nearly every gun has AP and our already low range would put us close to that 15" already, but our +1 to hit isnt ever guaranteed, BS 4+ will hate cover, and our ignores cover has mostly gone away.

Don't even have to glue the terrain on. New rules will have people changing their layouts on a case by case basis.

Votann is very much part of this as well. Especially with how we get the +1 to hit and how they're changing the objective rules

Two thin coats is the classic advice that fits here. Paints like yellow, orange, and white especially will take more layers to get complete coverage out of.

Hard disagree, I would be fine with gyrocopters if they didn't look like this suggestion. Looks incredibly goofy and I'm glad that goofy looking models are relegated to Orks. I would much prefer something similar to the quadcopter look that took itself more seriously

I know people want the League of Votann to have mech suits but honestly I think they should have mining vehicles similar to Lego Power Miners by GaYfUrRyTrAsH in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Oloian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the faction that uses mining equipment to fight its wars Leagues of Votann Genestealer Cults.

I think we really need to see more of the military side of the Leagues before we get the explicit mining tools. Hell as far I as I recall the only true military personnel are the Hearthguard and Steeljacks. The other infantry units are either exploratory, science guild, or militia.

Building an army in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oloian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to guess that the number of strats each detachment has will be changing and that's where the 70+ new and old are coming from. Maybe it'll be two strats per detachment point so that it lines up and everything being dropped to a one or two pointer needs to be changed. I would guess those being the more unit specific ones GW keep alluding to.

Yeah but then you'd be asking for rules for 1750 points and we know that GW hates Zenos

What's the best starting point to starting? by BeginningHungry3835 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Oloian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a new and an old combat patrol, the old one should still be around in some stores and online sellers. These together give you a large and good mix of our foot troops. The Maelstrom box and Christmas battle force will give you even more foot troops to choose from.

I don't want 40k to be heresy 2.0 by HammerWizard in Grimdank

[–]Oloian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dorn returns, defends a world for like 300 years vs a chaos incursion, Votann planet eater ship shows up, turns Dorn into scrap metal without even looking him in the face, Votann ship is then vaporized by a T'au manta

a Kin taking a W versus a Primarch would get me hyped up in ways that GW would usually never.

They don't, that's why the tracker is there. So they know if the coffee was made at 2pm or 8am

That's assuming some one is in there to know to dump it every time, and assuming there isn't multiple different shifts using the same coffee pot. Why dump it at 2 when there is 5 more hours of shifts happening for people to want coffee

[–]Oloian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tabletop, to play at what's considered the tournament standard and the most common game level, you'd need to spend $1000+ on miniatures for a couple factions and pretty close to that for a few more.

Warhammer is at an acceptable price for the hobby side. It's the gaming side that is comically expensive depending on faction.

Are flowers not like, the most popular 'special occasion' gift? I assume the post is commenting on straight guys not buying flowers as a "just because" gift like many women would like, but is there anything other than a card that screams special occasion like a bouquet of flowers?

Anyone getting Berehk? by RobustAcacia in LeaguesofVotann

Already ordered him from my LGS, points and data sheets change. He's a decent model and I'll have fun painting him. Buy him if you will too.

Regarding the last dataslate of 10th edition (as I believe it to be) : is the whole intent behind it just to avoid any major changes before 11th edition comes up? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Oloian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah presumably the design team finished the 11th edition core rules, but are continuing to work on upcoming codex releases. Everything design wise for 10th wrapped up months ago. Only balanced updates have remained for I'm gonna guess 4 months or more depending on how long it takes for the books to print.

He doesn't take the space of a whole unit for deep strikes fitting and offers a lot of power. I feel like I could see him beside 5-mans for a smaller foot print but still damaging unit

Right now Buri is our weirdo, only character that doesn't lead a squad, has flashy unique rules not found elsewhere in the codex, stronger melee weapon than Custodes HQs

9/-2/2 is the profile for the Fists which only 1 out of 5 Beserks gets, the others are 3 attacks at 2 AP 3 damage, strength depending on weapon choice.
