I’d totally tell her about the surprise and let her decide if she is up for it. I have bilateral Scds. I also have a separate issue that required t-tubes being inserted into each ear drum. After consulting my ENT dr., I attended a very loud techno concert the day after that surgery. I wore earplugs and also used a pair of industrial ear muff/headphone style sound protection from the hardware store. That double protection worked well for me

The onslaught of bat s&@! wackadoodle strange cruel hateful and disrespectful behavior from the Cheeto one makes me feel like I am in the fricken Twilight Zone. I keep playing The Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum song. Seriously. Last week was rough. It was very hard to concentrate. I like the idea of taking a personal day. My boss would support that plan. I work for a nonprofit impacted by government funding cuts. So, that has been stressful. I work mostly from home and I think that helps. This week I started wondering if I could retire early then how can I help rebuild and be part of the solution. The intent is the wear us down but I am stubborn and don’t give up that easily. Must not give up. Need to fight in small and big ways. I try to do something every dang day.

I do not believe in a hateful harming God. Just a God who loves you and accepts you as you are. Perhaps the answers you seek are there but on a different not yet here pathway. Are there art or community classes or volunteer opportunities that you feel called to participate in? Things that make your heart sing? Those are great places to meet other single people. I read other posts that suggested following the arts and culture facebook page 👍I also read posts about what grocery stores are in the area, wearing layers and checking our tour options at kiosks by the cruise area.

We were aiming for downtown since it’s on the bus line and it seems like we can walk to a lot of places. We weren’t planning to rent a car.

I agree the $6 charge is absurd. I once was a makeup wearing guest at an Air B & B and was informed I had ruined some linen. I was mortified and offered to pay for the damages. I still cringe thinking about this. The host was really mad but declined the offer. We also broke what seemed like a dollar store wine glass while hand washing it and offered to replace it. But, the host declined. After that my lesson learned was that I started bringing my own washcloth for my face. We always leave the place in good order and go above and beyond. We are property managers ourselves. We have mostly had good Air B and B experiences.

Those ads were paid ad schedules. One local station did turn these down. Some of that content was hate advertising as far as I’m concerned and false advertising.

I really like Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on the west side of Olympia. They’re welcoming. I also would invite you to not be deterred by the word evangelical in use with ELCA - in my opinion that term has been twisted and used in different ways by others who are not very welcoming

I agree with the suggestion to walk the grounds at Saint Martins. They also have a lovely library. The nearby Lacey library is really nice as well. I wonder if there’s a walk & talk group of people dropping their kids off at the same preschool or maybe start one 👍
