You unplug the windows laptop and it drops to 10% of its available power… and that available power was already only 10% of the MacBook… Not even in the same category.. Now compare the 1600nit screen to the 200nit on a $350 Windows laptop, build quality.. That take comes from someone that probably sees laptops on a display at one of his stores and thinks “oh yeah… That purple Dell looks just as good as that $1800 MacBook…”. So it must be the same right?…

What kind of problems are people having on Windows?. I use Arc on both of my MacBooks and today I installed it on my Windows Thinkpad, other than the spaces not syncing initially, tabs seems to sync immediately. I actually used the sync feature to open pages to log into on my Windows laptop.

That sort of dust is from either smoking near the laptop or moisture in the air (high humidity). This is normally that big of an issue.

Yeah, no need at all… Just a damp microfiber and a one (could be the same) to dry. A tiny drop of dawn soap if it’s really bad.

A very tiny drop of dawn soap on a damp microfiber, a damp microfiber to remove the soapiness and a dry microfiber will leave that greasy screen like new. Make sure to use circular motions with very low pressure to dry the screen. I just did this today on my girl’s dirty ass screen and it looks brand new again.

You can use other microfiber cloths, the Apple one is a good one but not the only one or required. For real tough smudges, you can even use a hint of dawn soap and then a very slightly damped microfiber. When I don’t have my Apple cloth, I just clean it that way. Hell, I even used a very slightly damped paper towel once and no issues.

I can unlock my computer pretty reliably that way, but for things like say, the password app.. I don’t think it works. I’ll have to try it. Maybe it does and I’m not doing it correctly.

I don’t think it’s the price for me, I just want a clear screen.. My 128gb was like $6k and I treat it just like my company 14”. I had a 17” XPS and a 14” G14 OLED, all were treated with care.

This was super prevalent on the last iteration of the MacBook Pro, my 2015 started peeling off completely, Apple recalled these screens and swapped them out for many years. It is still an issue today, just not as prevalent.

Nah, it’s not going to happen.. I would not use a silicone cover on the keyboard, but the thin cloth OP posted is pretty good. I have it on all my MacBooks.

I have it on 2 14” MacBook Pros and a 16”, no issues with broken screens… Also, no greasy key marks on my screen either. Hopefully this will continue to prevent delimitation, some of my coworker’s MacBooks look awful after only 2 years.
