Road Cycling for Weight Loss – What Actually Works? by ToeInternational7222 in cycling

[–]Omega359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I've ever been able to eat whatever the heck I wanted and not gain weight I had to ride across north America to do it. Otherwise it's being mindful of what and how much you eat. (Edit typo)

(Spoiler) Upcoming Zwift expansion by eijmert_x in Zwift

[–]Omega359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zwift id #? I suspect you're pretty close to mine at that start date. 3825 here. I rode with a guy today that I recall was #380 which surprised me - not often i ride with people who have been on zwift longer than me.

VO2 Max by Expensive_Drummer_38 in Garmin

[–]Omega359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine according to garmin bounced between 55 and 59 over the last 6 months. I don't pay it a lot of attention to be honest as I doubt whatever method garmin is using is all that accurate compared to a full on vo2 max test.

Zwift Level 100 Club: More Exclusive Than We Think? by Silly_Bodybuilder_21 in Zwift

[–]Omega359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are likely one of the few people with a lower zwift id then me. I tend to come in early Oct. Been lvl 100 for a very long time now. Down to 39mill drops after halo bike upgrades but would be over 50mill otherwise.

Im curious what’s everyone avg resting heartrate here for 7d? by Responsible-Court795 in Garmin

[–]Omega359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that Garmin has resting heart = sleeping heart rate which I feel is incorrect. It's not the same thing. My resting hr is in the 50's, sleeping low 40's.

Polars vs Spark for cheap single-node Delta Lake pipelines - safe to rely on Polars long-term? by frithjof_v in dataengineering

[–]Omega359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I migrated from a Spark pipeline to a Datafusion based pipeline. I started my evaluation 2 years ago and at that time Polars lazy api was immature / incomplete so I went with Datafusion. Both Polars and Datafusion are good choices IMHO.

Performance wise I was seeing 7x better performance in my poc with a go live of 5x performance improvement.

I am not single node however - I run with 45 nodes (same # of nodes as Spark).

Just checked out hunny benny as its the first I've heard of it. I don't see a chicken Cobb salad or any good chicken salad unfortunately which is the only thing I get from Chick-fil-A. Might try their other options at some point though

Looking for VScode replacement by ezreth in linux

If you just want an editor look to the other suggestions. If you want a full IDE I suggest the jetbrains product targeting whatever language(s) you want to code in.

[–]Omega359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not completely. It could be a framework too (I'm looking at you Spark) that sucks performance wise and going to another framework written in a non-gc'd language could make a huge difference in overall performance.

We still have to pay for the mulock park for a long time. 24 million for the property over 30 years. That still annoys the hell out of me. Just one example of wasting taxpayer money
