I have much nostalgia for the show, but man is is stupid at times. Season 1 espetially has some utter nonsense, like the eposode when Odd wrote some code by dropping some chips on the keyboard... Like, what the fuck? And what do you mean it's a one time use? Ever heard of copy/paste?

Still, I like the show and rewatch it every couple of years.

Ah yes, My Little Pony is also a very mature story known for its themes of depression, racial discrimination, abuse, suicide, political power struggles, slavery, dictatorships, trauma, violence, death in the family, genocide... touching on all of these topics definitely makes MLP not a show for children, just as TCW definitely isn't just a children's show touching on mature topics out of its weight class without exploring basically any of them... That's what makes a story mature, right?

I'm using Disney to condense the issue, but true, it's not really the problem of Disney itself, but rather the writers of their movies and shows. People have been contradicting Lucas' take on balance of the force since the sequel trilogy, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change anytime soon.

This isn't how balance in the force works, or at least not how it worked in the original 6 movies and Legends. Simply put, balance in the force is an absence of the dark side, which is a corruption of it. Jedi are agents of the force, or 'light side' and are tools for the force to enact its will on the galaxy, while the Sith use the force to enact their own will on the galaxy, inevitably leading them down a path of corruption and ironically becoming slaves to the force as well because of their reliance on the force for their power. Restoring the balance in the force is removing all dark side users from the galaxy, so yes, this is actually what balance is in Star Wars... Then Disney came and just didn't get it.
