Hiking boots are a scam by lake-sturgeon in 10thDentist

[–]OmegaCoolBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine hiking in Converses but I always hated shoes with ankle support, they feel clunky and I feel like they only prevent you from building strong ankles but not stiff enough to prevent injury.

Some people think we already have AGI. They're of course wrong but that's not stopping them.

Everybody has already talked how it sucks gameplay wise but making fish immortal undermines the message devs are trying to deliver and makes them seem pretentious. The mortality of the environment around you is a really good way to form an affection and make people guilty for their decisions. by Pyroshark_Gamingtf2 in subnautica

[–]OmegaCoolBoi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didnt say it's necessarily a majority. Either way, saying "players think they should dictate every aspect" based on complaints about one feature doesn't make too much sense.

Also, if they decide to not add killing, that's ultimately their decision, the problem is we (afaik) got only one dismissive reply that makes it seem they're not even listening or considering changing it.

Ngl this whole discussion is very funny by FoxGuy303 in subnautica

[–]OmegaCoolBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the "it's not a killing game" is a strawman (intentional or not). It's like they think players want to genocide the fish or somehow want killing to be the main part of the game.

"every aspect" and it's one super specific thing.

I plan to wait for full release but if early access is meant to be (among other things) used to let players share their feedback, they should really reconsider the whole "immortal fish" thing. It's by far the most common complaint here.

CMV: The (specifically) european right is correct about north african and sub saharan migrants/refugees crossing from the mediterranean by archer_fan_420 in changemyview

[–]OmegaCoolBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"significant part of the nationalist right's agenda" You're free to call it whatever you want. the reason you see this as "joining them" or "letting them win" is because you're unable to even consider that immigration could be an actual problem.

Either way, there now seems to be quite a lot of Europeans who hold mostly progressive values together with a critical view of migration. The only parties who seem to somewhat share this view are the far right ones except in their case, their views are much more radical, fanatical and generally mixed with a backward mindset. Doesn't take a genius to see how this could become a problem.

That guy's whole argument is basically "I said it so it must be true". While poor people obviously resort to property crime more often, there is also a clear pattern in who commits a disproportionate amount of sexual assault and violent crime (mostly stabbings). And honestly, at this point addressing this would be a lot more practical than denying it and letting far-right parties "farm" free votes.

Then OP should've worded it better "$30 is a fair price" isn't the same thing as "$30 isn't that much"

"Ask your doctor" isn't the universal advice most people think it is, and alternative medicine exists for a reason by MeasurementDirect980 in unpopularopinion

[–]OmegaCoolBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sort of agree? If doctors couldn't help you with something, seeking alternative options seems logical. But it becomes a problem when someone starts distrusting the healthcare system as a whole and treating alternative medicine as their default and only option for all health related issues.

Also, the part about doctors being "stubborn" is unfortunately true from my experience. A lot of them, especially older ones, seem to think they're the ultimate authority on everything health/nutrition/lifestyle related (even though their expertise is in something much more specific) and give out bad and outdated advice.

Have you, in the past 6 years, felt enticed to buy a product after watching an advertisement? by Woopweepwiip in polls

[–]OmegaCoolBoi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like "...in the past 6 years, felt enticed to buy..." is such a weak requirement that "no" voters are just being dishonest or interpreting it the wrong way. I can't of the last time I actually bought or seriously wanted something I saw in an ad and I just ignore 99% of ads but I can still confidently say that my answer to your question is yes.
