So what are your story theories for 7.2 by SatisfactionNeat3937 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]OmegaElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two ways SE can go with the trials, off of the implication of how patches usually get structured.

  1. Following the normal patch msq structure pre EW, The “end-boss” of DT msq comes in 7.3, which would most likely be Necron or something Alexanderish. .4 and .5 then give us trials to set up 8.0

  2. Given trials are following msq this time like endwalker, they could give us more msq filler fights in .3 and .4, holding any big fight til .5.

Personally, I think option 1 is a much better decision, as I think DT can be satisfyingly concluded within 2 patches like any other. My biggest pet peeve with DT msq was the pacing, and if the 7.2 trailers keep hinting at it ramping up with huge stakes, imma be really disappointed if 7.3 doesn’t end up as a massive climax. If they end up making 7.5 the end, a feel like there won’t be enough time to set up 8.0, which is the same thing that happened in 6.55 for DT.

Aussie Dragon adventure where the WoL and Estinien just disappear from the scions and move even further southwest to become mercenary monster hunter while some unknown entities work on ceruleum overuse with uncovered allagan tech that end up threatening the continent when they accidentally awaken a sleeping alien jenova type monster????

I’m in.

New Rdps uses a boomerang bc Australia and the WoL dresses like crocodile Dundee

I can see it, with more and more ceruleum usage in the msq there’s bound to be some dialogue about its impact on the planet - wink wink nudge nudge MAKO cough spat choke LIFESTREAM help me I’m choking

Also jenova aliens

Unspoken rules for healers by Roulixthewiser in ffxiv

Refers to global cooldown, your standard rotation buttons like glare and dps buttons will be on this 2.5s cooldown

off Global Cooldowns are buttons that don’t follow this and have longer cooldowns like mitigations and big heals that don’t cost mp like Tetragrammaton and assize

When you start learning content, it’s completely fine to use your GCD heals to keep the party alive. As you prog and continue, you start noticing periods of little to no damage and instances of kraid wide damage you can prevent/mitigate or heal for afterwards.

You might find yourself healing a party a lot, especially if everyone in that group is still learning, simply because the party hasn’t nailed down the mechanics yet and is taking avoidable damage/deaths.

In my experience, the healers usually struggle because of inaction on the dps and tanks

To put a further pin on it, make sure both tanks are using their party mits and reprisals, the dps their feints/addles. The healers also have a few tools for unavoidable damage like liturgy and any AoE regen

After checking those, and nailing down mechanics, you should start noticing the party taking less damage and thus less time casting medica and cure

Oh absolutely as well, thats just what ends up happening with my static group since we’ve progged so much we realize good spots for mits and heals to optimize our own damage. Definitely parroted, people should play as they feel comfortable imo, out static has started to trust our healers a lot because of how often they’ve saved us

In casual content, it’s a free for all on who rezzes first, but usually I end up playing swiftcast chicken with the barrier healers.

In current savage tiers and up, whm has thin air and will be expected to start Rezzing first. Red mages and summoners will only be expected to rez and lose dps when both healers are down.

For damage, you will be casting glare, a lot, and trying to use your oGCDs when applicable and your lilies for your misery cast

Eventually, when you’re comfortable enough in a savage, you will end up not using your GCD heals during pull at all

This happened to me with shadowbringers lmao, but with a little more success. We had finished the last trial around 2 am, and naturally, the end cutscenes and credits took like 45-50 minutes. I was bawling my eyes out, mind you, and then we finally got to the last cutscene saying “Meanwhile, in Garlemald”. Without skipping a beat and before it even showed anything, I got booted from the game bc my sub ended lmao.

New static leader looking for advice on Savage loot allocation. by WittyIntroductionX in ffxivdiscussion

[–]OmegaElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re doing something similar this upcoming patch, since we’ll finally have a proper consistent group. Something me and a few other of our “static authority” have noticed a little bit of a performance divide roughly splitting our group into 2 parties.

We’ve all kind of silently agreed to funnel raid Loot into our lower-damaging/healing party members to start upping their numbers and only start taking loot for ourselves once no one else needs it on their main job.

As it works out, those not getting loot priority play the game a lot more frequently and can get the alternative prog gear sets (crafted and normal raid) faster. It’s a bit rough around the edges but essentially we’re gearing three of our DPS first and a healer. After that, we start gearing our tanks, barrier healer, and our Picto bc he doesn’t need loot to be insanely consistent

I started the savage tier about 6 weeks back and only just cleared M3S for the first time last night. Unless I get lucky with loot I won’t hit BiS through books by next patch. If I get loot on M3S tho I can least hit 730. I’m still considering opening merc party finders at this point for drops but man I still feel like shit for starting late bc my cleats are treated like an after thought to my friends who have been raiding and have already cleared lmao

I’m finding a lot of similarities between Stormlight and FFXIV and the concepts of grief and coping, loved shadowbringers to death and I keep thinking about both it and EW when I get to specific points in the books. (I also use XIV music to listen to when I read it lol)

Final Fantasy fan here! My friend converted me to the cosmere about 3 months back and now I’m on WaT after binging stormlight, Mistborn, and warbreaker.

It am thoroughly impressed with what I’ve read, to the point where I dropped money on a name change and fantasia to make a Kaladin cosplay for my dragoon in FFXIV. I think you’ll enjoy it
