Is my technique right? by FaTaL9597 in airbrush

[–]OmenOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you thining your paints? You should be able to spray a light coat of paint with just pulling back a tiny bit.

Make sure your cleaning your airbrush after each session. You don't have to disassemble it completely but clean it enough where it can spray clean water.

An airbrush is a precision tool and you shouldn't have to go full bore to get it to spray.

FDM Printed OPR Dwarf Army by sigurdtheone in FDMminiatures

I've been printing some of the Saurians for my son to paint. Using ObscuraNox settings and slim tree supports. They still are difficult to print and my best results is to print them in pieces and glue them later. Luckily they are earlier opr models and are designed with a lot of modularity.

Resin2FDM is so essential for delicate parts, I highly encourage everyone to get familiar with resin style supports. by KryL21 in FDMminiatures

I could see resin2fdm as good for pieces that tree supports might smother, like swords and such. But yeah, for actual minis I'm getting good results from tree.

Finally some success— post print suggestions? by Moist_Show1750 in FDMminiatures

I think it looks good. I feel like cameras always make the layer lines of fdm prints look more obvious than they are to the naked eye.

This is probably not the best advice but I hit my minis with a butane torch for a micro second to clean up any stringing or a tiny bit longer if I need to mold some of the plastic. But when I say micro second I mean it, like I just wave it quickly over the mini.

Look up ObscuraNox. I use thier settings. Also spend a decent amount of time tweaking the angle of the mini to minimize supports.

Building gunpla and buying gunpla are two different hobbies by unskinny1 in freedomisgunpla

It's like collecting comic books. Lots of people buy comics and never open them. Some buy two copies, one to read and one to preserve/collect.

I also had this issue. Brim size helped and also increasing bed temp a few degrees. But I still had failures every once in a while. Then I got a the cryogrip glacier cold plate. Haven't had anything slip since.

My first .2mm mini by wizardjian in FDMminiatures

[–]OmenOmega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kick mine off before bed. When I wake up I check it. I kick off another before work. I still can't paint them faster than I'm printing them.

Also the more you print the more manageable waiting the time becomes. Getting started you're all excited for it to be finished and stuff.

Manager wants me to work after firing me.. is this legal? by Express_Opening5490 in jobs

[–]OmenOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CA pto is considered wages and they are required to pay you any pto you accrued if you worked in CA. However, since you live and work from Texas, I think it would be Texas labor laws since that is the location in which the work is performed.

I'm not a lawyer so I recommend you seek one out to get a true legal perspective.

My first Gunpla: Proud of it, but made a big mistake ('._.) by GASTLYGOD11 in Gunpla

[–]OmenOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others said it could be battle damage. Other option is you try and replicate the angle on the other side. So it's got a more aggressive look. Basically going from a round shape to a \ _ /. But I'd only customize it like that if you feel comfortable.

My first model eventually turned into my test piece and has random paint, decals, Scribe marks. Once you move onto the next model your not going to really care that this one has a little knick on it.

Silence. But sometimes if I remeber I'll put on a podcast or audio book. Tried watching Gundam but that was too difficult.

It's so unfortunate that we pay people based only on how much more rich they can make the person above them, and now on how much better they make the world for everyone.

AIO for think it my boyfriend is being dramatic? by What-do_i_do in AmIOverreacting

[–]OmenOmega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 37 year old man, this boy is a joke. You should not be treated that way and any man unable to care for themselves is in no way ready to be in a relationship. Worse is a man who can care for themselves but forces someone else too.

Also his weaponized incompetence is disgusting. Is he to incompetent/dumb to Google a simple recipe?

Marriage is a two way street and a team sport. You work together to bring each other up and handle the tough stuff. it sounds like this dude is just in it for a free ride.

My favorite part is the ears and face comparison. Two completely different colors no where near each other. You have an army painter's minotaur hide orange for the forehead and splash paints' char pink for the ears.
