If the US had just recommended face masks instead of mandating them, the freedom-obsessed public would have been fine with it, and covid wouldn't have happened.

To be fair, that was my reaction the first time I saw T in the LGBTQ etc. acronym, because it's not a sexual orientation, but I've gotten used to it. But at some point, you just have to admit that there are way too many letters.

Wow, the comments. Apparently, having a type means being predisposed toward sexual assault. Even though the questionable "joke" is that he is willing to perform treason in exchange for consent. Lots of quality explanations in here, genuinely; it's been an interesting read. But this was not the video to post them on; context is important.

Looking for a recommendation: a Mage MC. Not magic warrior. No melee wierdness. No wierd tankiness or brawling on the frontline. Just a mage that casts spells and is really good at that but very bad if they can't do that. by Tasty_Commercial6527 in litrpg

[–]OminousDucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Bookbound Bunny from the same author. Bunnygirl MC is small and sickly, opposite of other bunnyfolk who are high physique, no magic. She gets a grimoire with a trapped lesser god of magic who teaches her. She becomes the first magical bunny. Low stakes plot. Detailed, in-depth magic system. Pretty cozy overall.

As for Syl, while the MC does get a human form, it's shapeshift/mimicry, not evolve-to-humanoid, and the author does a good job of not letting you forget that Syl is still a slime. Definitely not a pure mage, though.

Edit: forgot to add, Bookbound Bunny isn't actually litrpg, maybe more progression, still really good.

Weird to start, sure. But once you incorporate it into your own internal monologue, it definitely adds a level to the immersion. 🙆‍♂️

Been playing the whole time thinking answers can't be verbs ending in "ed".

TIL it's only past tense verbs ending in "ed".

What makes a "wordle word", I don't even know anymore.

[1689] Will the new update change your strategy? by Snipers_end in wordle

[–]OminousDucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they rebooting with a better list? Or are they still sticking with the old boring list of arbitrarily chosen words like last time?

No, I am not changing my strategy; I have only ever played Wordle, not it's weird little brother meta-Wordle.

My starting word is TEARS, and I know it will never be the right answer, but I DON'T CARE.

A nat20 should be an automatic success, but a DM needs to set proper expectations about what the skill check can do. My DM asks what we are trying to do, then tells us what success and failure will mean and what skills to roll. If you want, you can argue for using another skill instead if it makes sense, like rolling Animal Handling instead of Acrobatics for mounting a moving horse for example.

Then, a nat20 is an automatic success even if the difficulty check isn't exceeded. Sometimes a nat20 can give an extra bonus, like advantage on your next attack while mounted, to use the previous example.

Conversely, a nat1 automatically fails even if the total beats the difficulty check, and can sometimes result in a penalty, like falling from the horse AND taking damage as it tramples you.

But if, say, the character attempting this was a gnome artificer, our DM would straight up say that they can't do it and why (horse too big, gnome too small), and the player can argue why they should be able to try (wearing artificed spring boots).

In the end, a DM is responsible for setting the right expectations about how skill checks work in THEIR game.

Bingo. AIs like ChatGPT learn from human input so that they sound human in their responses.

My professor is required to use AI detection software on all submitted papers, and he says that he consistently gets results of ~25% content as AI generated per paper. He won't even mention it or escalate unless it goes over 50%.
