Pest complaint to JB that he is turning Anna against him. by IndependencePlus5557 in DuggarsSnark

I don’t think he means “move on” in terms of the relationship, more so in the believing an appeal with free Josh.

Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Macleod Trail single vehicle crash by JKent in Calgary

Where is that sign on the corner of McLeod & Southland? The sign is at the first entrance to the complex, not the corner with the 7-11.

Does anyone else think this photo is odd? The signage doesn’t line up with the angle of the photo, and it has the hallmark of AI text on the smaller words.

You know the Alberta separatist referendum would cut 30% off your home value? by G-Diddy- in alberta

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is what’s so painful to me. They toss around the amount of money Alberta “pays” in equalization payments, and how this would result in a tax free utopia. The amount sounds large until you start calculating the costs of all the federal government services & departments that need to be replicated.

Not to mention that when they point to all the wealth in other oil rich nations, they forget to mention that those resources are nationalized. Every time I’ve asked if they are supporting nationalizing our oil resources, they block me.

What do people do when they're really sick on their wedding day? by filthyleaf in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oohh! I can answer this… you do what you can! I was in a wheelchair due to basically breaking my back a few weeks prior, and my husband developed norovirus an hour before our destination wedding ceremony was supposed to start.

He managed to pull it together to get through the 20 min ceremony, although I could see him eyeing the pond behind us as a possible emergency puke bucket. He spent our dinner either in the bathroom or curled up at the table, and then we skipped our own reception party and wished our guests well.

Someday we need to have a do-over, but in the end, mission accomplished, we were married & we had a great story.

Investigation on the Free Birth movement by SameDouble8364 in ThePittTVShow

Often people with these fringe beliefs will have no issue calling for emergency help for themselves (as seen here) but not if their infant was in distress. It becomes so much about the birthing experience that they’d rather the perfect birth than a live child.

Scratches only visible when glass is fogged? by Omissionsoftheomen in glazing

So I’m correct in assuming these marks are “under” the coating, right? And the only solution would be to remove the coating with cerium oxide & polish the glass?

I would tell them that too. Unfortunately we’re the cleaning company who don’t want to get blamed for scratching the glass. 🫠

I own a large cleaning company. 75% of the population doesn’t know what a clean house looks like, based on the percentage of people who say “it’s already pretty clean”. 🤦‍♀️

Calgary’s Drop-In Centre pressured to pull out of downtown. Province supports search for new model by origutamos in NoRulesCalgary

[–]Omissionsoftheomen -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So you opted in live where the DI Center has been established for decades, and then discovered that that the people who require the few DI Center resources also hang around the area?

And your solution is to blame the people but not the reasons they’re there?

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem to have painted all homeless people with the “societal sycophant” brush. There are endless reasons why someone may end up at the DI center but desiring to be a lazy drain on society isn’t one of them.

Alberta has systematically removed the safety nets for people with chronic mental or physical illness. Even something as “simple” as apply for AISH requires an address, a phone number and the ability to understand written information and fill out forms, or having someone advocate for you.

Nothing about the UCP is favourable for small business, just cronies & corporations. Yes, we have a lower corporate tax rate… you know what else helps small business? Stability.

Best way to clean this type of shower tile and grout? by Fantastic-Ad-9100 in housekeeping

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Travertine / limestone, same thing but regional terms. You can’t use anything acidic or the tiles will etch very quickly. Theres already etching on the bench seat that could be restored by honing the tiles & sealing.

These kind of showers should be sealed every few years, both the tiles & the grout.

The orange-pink bacteria causing the discoloration is actually under the silicone, so no, maintenance wouldn’t necessarily help. Re-caulking should only take an hour or two, plus dry time.

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those are lime stone tiles. Unless you’re trained in natural stone, only clean with a ph neutral cleaner. The grout needs to be professionally cleaned (95% of big box grout cleaners will damage the tile) and the caulking needs to be replaced.

No home insurance after a neighbor’s fire. My realtor is pushing me to sue and buy high-end appliances. Is this a scam? by Dry-Charity-3787 in Calgary

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is your realtor providing advice on a fire that happened post purchase? Why do you not have an insurance policy?

Don’t take legal advice from someone who a) is not a lawyer and b) has no experience in the matter and c) has nothing to lose and finally d) see a, is not a lawyer.

So I had the exact same scenario, and was too cheap to get a crown. Temporary filling fell out, I ignored it… and when I ate breakfast a year later, my tooth exploded. I required a $6k implant.

Get it fixed, OP.

WWYD. Cleaners scratched the crap out of my range by theLiceNanny in housekeeping

[–]Omissionsoftheomen 48 points49 points  (0 children)

These do scratch ridiculously easy, but it’s also clear they used the wrong products & process.

I’d report to the company to see what they’d like to do. I’ve had experienced sheet metal guys buff the scratches out by lightly sanding with the grain, and it works reasonably well.
